Dr. John M Kovesdi, DO

I came to this physician for occupational health due to an injury to my hand acquired at work. He was the person in was seeing to follow up regarding my workers compensation claim. First he came into the room and left the door wide open. When I asked him why he left it open he told me that closing it was not necessary which is clearly a violation of my rights under the HIPAA laws. He asked me about my injury and how it has occurred. Asked me if I used ibuprofen and ice to control the swelling/pain. I told him I used ice but could not tolerate the ibuprophen due to other medical conditions unrelated and that I did not want anything else to manage my pain because I don't like opiates. He proceeded to laugh, I mean LAUGH in my face and told me that I was intentionally making it more difficult to treat. I told him it was not intentional and that I couldn't figure why he thought this was all so funny. Then he examined my hand, had me make a fist which wasn't so painful, but then… turned my hand and wrist to the side and a flare of pain shot up my arm like fire. I tried to pull away and had to use my other hand to free myself from his grasp because it hurt so bad and he would not let go even after I told him "ow ow please stop. That hurts really bad!" He gave me a splint that is HUGE and told me to return to work today with no restrictions because the splint will do all the healing for me. That would be fine if I did not work in the medical field as a STNA. My job involves a lot of use of my hands, lifting, and most importantly the use of disposable gloves and frequent hand washing that would not be possible with a giant splint on my hand. Please spare yourself the abuse of this doctor. He had me in tears. I have never felt so disrespected and intentionally injured by a medical professional before. Go somewhere else!
