I rate Dr MacKay very highly. You never feel rushed and he does answer all questions. I was also a patient of Dr. McCoy and have been going to this practice for over 22 years. Quality of support staff has suffered of late.

Though the waiting times are long, the Doctor is very thorough and caring. I would recommend him to anyone.

But I agree with the previous comments - it can be very difficult to get a call back from a nurse, and paperwork tends to cause issues. Scheduling appointments for a same-day appointment can be an exercise in futility, although Suzanne, the nurse who handles this, will do her best to fit you in or call in prescriptions for you as needed.That said, Dr. MacKay is the best doctor I've ever been to. He is not afraid to spend adequate time with you, answer every little question you have, and you get the feeling that he actually cares about you. He's taken excellent care of myself and several family members over the years, and I think very highly of him.

Dr. MacKay purchased this practice several years ago from Dr. McCoy. Since then it has been my experience that there has been a marked decrease in the quality and professionalism of the support staff. My calls to the nurses go unanswered for more than one day, insurance issues and referrals have been handled inadequately or have been completely ignored in some cases despite their voice mail system instructs you to not disrupt their system with follow up calls to insure that your request has been received. I would not recommend this office to a friend.
