Dr. John Benjamin Marino III, MD

My husband & I have been seeing Dr. Marino for 12+ years and are very happy with the care and concern he has for us. He follows up with a phone call and is truly interested in our welfare. We highly recommend him.

Outstanding Dr., Great receptionist, RN refuses do her job. Pharmacy fiasco from day one and two years later it's still the same. When the Dr. increases dosage on a prescription he notes it and gives the file to the RN. WHO DOES NOTHING! Our pharmacy has faxed her repeatedly and she doesn't respond. Getting my husbands necessary prescription refills is a monthly nightmare! He's diabetic and has had to go without his medications sometimes for days because of this RN. I have called the RN who swears up and down it's the pharmacy, and they should know, but admits she did not and does not notify them when the Dr. increases the dosage of my husbands prescriptions. We changed pharmacies - same problem!

Dr Marino is all things good as a physician: knowledge, experience,clarity, concern, contact, follow-up. He carried our family through loss of parents and individual illness with grace, expert care and concern. We have seen a LOT of doctors over our years - - John Marino stands above all.

Dr. Marino has been my physician for 25+yrs. He is an excellent diagnostician. I owe him my life for being vigilant in the pursuit of diagnosing my lung cancer early. With a left lung removed and no follow-up therapies needed, I am a grateful patient 10 years later. Knowledge, determination, and commitment to medicine and his patients, I feel makes him a remarkable physician.

After years of looking for a primary care physician for my husband that gives a 'darn', we finally found Dr. Marino. He's bright, he cares, he's honest (if not bluntly honest), he follows up (actually calls to find out how he's doing), and has been named one of San Diego's Best Doctors. He earned that one!
