Dr. John Andrew Matyas, MD

I've had to see Dr. Matyas 3 times for a possible hernia. He has always gotten me in quickly. I needed surgery one time and he did an excellent job of explaining everything to me. The surgery went well. I never felt rushed or cut off even though I know he had a very busy schedule. I highly recommend this doctor!

Diagnosed with acute pancreatitis 10 years ago and later becoming chronic the inevitable was about to occur, a major surgery called the Puestow procedure. Dr. Matayas was the one that was performed this difficult task. I went to his office the first time expecting the grimmest of news but instead there he was a warm and compassionate doctor ready to answer your questions providing hope and optimism for what I thought was one of the darkest days of my life I just don't know how to thank him. From surgery to recovery to follow up everything was handled professionally including his staff. This remarkable doctor and his staff stands above all others

Incredible physician. During my illness I saw numerous doctors, and Matyas was outstanding. He gave me a terrific explanation of my condition. He performed surgery, had a wonderful bedside manner with self depreciating humor, made sure I had good care in the hospital, and listened appropriately. I recommend him highly. The waits in his office are brief, and his staff is warm and friendly.

This is by far the best doctor I've ever seen and I have sure seen a lot of them. I was SO SICK for 4 YEARS and was down to less than 100 lbs. Finally my doctor referred me to Dr. Matyas. He was AMAZING! He came in the room and just listened to what I had to say...he REALLY LISTENED to everything I was telling him that was going on. He believed me and he knew how to help. Turns out it was my gallbladder full of stones and adhesions. He took it out and even gave me a disc of the actual surgery! He was wonderful! I immediately felt like a new person...like I was alive again. I was no longer in excruciating pain and my blood pressure was back to normal. He literally saved my life when no one else seemed to want to listen or even seemed to care. He is a wonderful man and the most intelligent and capable doctor I have ever encountered. I would recommend this doctor to anyone and everyone. He really listens and he is experienced and he is by far THE BEST DOCTOR AROUND! I will forever be… thankful for this man and how he has changed my life for the better. It is doctors like he that restore ones faith in the medical community! Too bad they are so few and far between!

Dr. Matyas is an excellent surgeon with a wonderful bedside manor. He has operated on several members of my family and they all love him. I would highly recommend him.

I was Dr. Matyas' breast cancer patient 6 years ago. He is a great surgeon and very caring at the time of surgery and during the 5 years follow up after that. I recommend him to anyone who is searching a good surgeon.
