Dr. John Patrick Mcdermott, DO

It’s sad because I do believe toxic McDermot is a good doctor, but the problem is I think he’s looking to semi retire and has nurse practitioners oversee all his patients. As a patient of his for almost 2 decades in the beginning I have to say I was very happy However, I have noticed in the past decade he has turned his office completely big run by nurse pressers or PAs. Now I have to say Laura is one of the PAs and she is absolutely phenomenal but our last visit with a nurse practitioner was below awful. She had no idea of any medical history and I am talking diagnosed medical issues that I have had for years. My daughter also was a patient and despite being diagnosed with medical issues from other doctors, this nurse practitioner didn’t even acknowledge us and rather ramble on and on about another patients medical history, which I do believe is a violation of HIPAA. I completely misdiagnosed my daughter, but I believe at this point I decided it’s time to move on and find a more… qualified Doctor Who actually shows up for his patients and doesn’t love to push off his patients to nurse practitioners in PA. This is what horizon holy Medical has become and I know I’m not the only patient to say this because if you read reviews on their website, it’s one bad review after the other. this is what open my eyes to say it’s time to move on and find a new doctor and a new practice that is not run like this. The quality healthcare has gone right to the toilet and it’s sad because I think it started out very good but it has ended up as one of the worst practices in Orange County..

I like him a lot. He's a regular guy who happens to be a great doctor.

Dr. is very caring and will explain in layman terms everything you need to know. Getting and urgently needed appt is difficult with him but usually obtainable with the office NP

Compassionate, caring and very professional. I reccommend everyone to him and his office. His nurse Patty is a lovely person as well.
