Dr. John Jacob Meier IV, MD

Dr. Meier is the best doctor I have ever ben too. He is very good at explaining things. He is very compassionate, caring and thorough. He makes it very comfortable to discuss any issues I am having, because he truly listens. Sadly I had to move, I wish I could go to him still. Never felt hurried. So passionate about being your doctor. Miss him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Meier for several years and the only reason I am just giving this review is because I only found this site today. It took me a while to find even an 'acceptable' Dr, but in Dr. Meier I found excellence, as well as a caring human being.

I had an appointment last week and Donna the nurse is back. Nurses should be caring and compassionate and she is not. She needs to find a new career. The fact that she is still employed by Wake Internal Medicine after all the complaints tells me that they don't care about the patients. Dr. Meier is fine but the nurse makes the whole experience a bad one. I will be looking for a new doctor.

Nurse is so awful!! She was gone and I was ecstatic then she returned. Sooo many complaints about her and she still has a job?!? With so many great nurses why keep this one.? Dr. Meier is great but she makes it almost not worth the visit!

He is thorough and listens intently to his patients.

I am a new patient referred to Dr. Meier by several friends. First experience, called and left message to make an appointment. No one ever called me back. Finally got an appointment only to be seen by a Physicians Assistant. Very knowledgeable, ordered blood tests, after 3 business days called for results. Operator was brain dead and said I would receive a call back. Did anyone ever call me back??? NO! Six business days later received copy in the mail without any follow up call. Two weeks later, finally got an appointment with Dr. Meier! Excellent man, can't say enough good things about him and his bed side manor. Business 101, your only as good as the people surrounding you. Trying to reach Dr Meier is impossible. The front office is a nightmare. Be prepared to sit and wait for your appointment, then your vitals are taken and moved to a room thinking your close to seeing the Dr. Take two not one magazine, you will read them cover to cover while you wait. Insurance premiums continue to… rise and service levels continue to diminish. Very disappointing experience.

I adore Dr. Meier - he is a wonderful doctor. But his nurse, Donna, is one of the rudest people I've ever met. I'm seriously considering changing doctors because of her.

Love Dr. Meier but his nurse and returning phone calls is ridiculous. Forget about getting a same day response or even two days. It seems the only time she returns calls is in the morning. Don't bother leaving a number for her either cause she will call your home number regardless. As for taking notes I don't believe she even listens to you. It's so hard to have a great doctor with a terrible nurse. I have been trying to get help for a problem I am having for 5 days now and repeated phone calls only gets you her voicemail. Dr. Meier doesn't have a voicemail so you can't even call him to complain or get help yourself. Looks like I will have to take time off work and come back in just to talk to him and get help. Wish you could review doctors nurses somewhere.
