Dr. John Whitney Mercer JR., MD

This Dr. delivered our daughter via C section. We waited almost 2 hours for him to show up despite it being an emergency situation. My wife suffered excessive bleeding to the point of turning blue after the fact, and this doctor chose to fat shame her instead of taking action as our nurse requested. We later found out he was has an addiction at the time. He skipped town a few months later. Our child is developmentally disabled, and I can't help but wonder if this practioner's actions contributed to that outcome. I see he is still practicing. Hopefully he has changed his ways.

He's amazing. The best OB I've ever seen and trust him whole-heartedly

Dr. Mercer is great. He explained everything in depth and seems to genuinely care. He is by far the best doctor I have had.

Overall all ,a good doctor. Questions are answered thoroughly and he doesn't treat you like a complete idiot as some doctors will. He is a weight stickler and I get the feeling he wants all his patients to look like Barbie. This got tiresome for someone like myself who is in the upper range of normal for weight. He suggested I try to lose weight while I was pregnant which I didn't feel was right. For an obese or overweight person I see his point. I gained moderately and am not overweight after the fact.This is my only complaint. If you don't look like a model and don't feel like getting heckeled over that fact try someone else.Otherwise he is a very good doctor. The clinic is clean and staff friendly, though disorganized at times. The wait time can get a little long some days

Dr. mercer is amazing. He is great with answering questions and taking care of you. He was my doctor for my first pregnancy and this second one, the down fall.... His staff. They have all pretty much changed since my first pregnancy and the new staff is terrible at answering questions and when your worried about things and getting back to you... And I feel they don't relay a message to the Dr. when it needs to be done. If it was only based on his staff I would say no to recommend but for the Dr. He is honestly the best Dr I have ever been too. And I will continue going there 100% based on him as a Dr!

I think if you are thin and in the "high class" category, then this is the right doctor for you. Dr Mercer does not like overweight people and will let you know if you need to loose weight and treats you differently if you are poor. I am not poor but was treated like crap because I'm not super model thin. I will NOT be back to his practice.

This is one of the most caring and concerned doctor i've ever been to in my 54 years.

Has delivered two of my kids c-section. He understands how bad I hate going to the doctor and does a great job providing a light atmosphere.

Dr. Mercer just delivered my Grandson and took care of my Daughter. He is a great guy and treats you like a friend instead of like a wad of money. Excellent skills and care.
