Dr. John Robert Monroe

Dr. John Monroe is the WORST doctor I have ever seen. He is entirely unprofessional and scoffed at me and rolled his eyes when I took offense to him making comments about how many carbs and sugar I consume based on his assumptions. He never actually had a consultation to ask about my diet, nor did he appear to care what I actually eat. I tried explaining that the way he presented information about my results was offensive and he needed to be more consultative in asking me about my diet (which is healthy for the most part). My sugar was in pre diabetic range by 0.1 and I told him he really made me feel bad about myself since last visit, so I’ve starved myself to lose weight. He laughed and said good for you! I had also reported depression last visit and he had no concern he could’ve made me spiral. He is obese himself and wears clothes too tight, so honestly who is he to judge anyone? He is the most insensitive, arrogant doctor I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking to and he should… not be allowed to practice with such poor bedside manner. He told my husband to stop talking during my virtual appointment because my husband was upset at how Dr. Monroe was speaking to me. Dr. Monroe then abruptly ended the call and continually kicked me out of the waiting room. Please don’t do yourself the disservice of seeing Dr. John Monroe, he is entirely unprofessional and was way out of line during my appointment in how he was talking to a patient.

Very disappointed. After 12+ yrs as a patient, I am done. I was disturbed by the way a situation was handled and sent a complaint to Dr. Monroe and he never bothered responding at all. Maybe you shouldn't treat your patients like criminals? Oh well. I found a new GP who is wonderful. One that even ran tests and found issues with my health that needed to be addressed. Imagine that? A heathcare practice that cares about your health? Best decision that I made.

If I could give 0 stars I would. You will wait a minimum of 45 minutes before you see the doctor in this office once you are taken into the back. Include the 30 -45 minute wait you have in the lobby past your scheduled appointment and you are looking at 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1.5 hours of wait time. The staff is unprofessional and rude. They do not take time to explain anything. On more than one occasion they jammed the thermometer into my ear without warning which caused damage to my ear, tearing the flesh and an ear infection was the result. This practice was amazing in 2005-2009. Now you are subjected to very bad business practices including; pick-up hang-ups on the phone system, not greeting you on the phone and asking you to hold, not returning calls in a timely manner, not greeting you at the window while they are eating or talking to work colleagues, skimming facebook instead of working, Dr. Jeremy Ficken telling lewd and sexual jokes while patients are in… listening distance, not submitting referrals to providers covered by your insurance, not updating your records/phone numbers. unable to draw blood without causing your vein to blow out, any many more simple tasks. I know this looks like I am ranting on, it's just a WARNING! BUYER BEWARE, there are better doctors to see with much friendlier, and more efficient staff.

Dr. Monroe is a good doctor, if and when you can see him. Whenever I had appointments, takes anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour to actually see him after your scheduled appointment time. Office staff is not friendly, oftentimes are indifferent, and act as though you're putting them out when asking routine questions. Totally turned off by his entire office staff. Very unresponsive and totally uncaring attitudes....they need serious training.

Dr Monroe told me when I was in my early 60's that I had about ten yrs of life even if a specialist he referred me to told me I had cancer after a test he was to do. Hate to tell the good Dr that many people like my Dad and father-in-law lived to their late 80's. Then he told my spouse when she was in her late 50's that she was "so old". How many people think that they are "so old" in their late 50's ? I guess the good Dr just doesn't respect seniors or want to work with them I have found a very senior -friendly practice many more miles from home but well worth the effort to go there .

Dr. Monroe has treated myself and my deceased husband with kindness and personal attention. His staff and associates are all the best.

I have been going to this office for 9 years. I adore Dr Monroe. But it bothers me that he does not realize how unorganized his staff is. My husband went in with kidneys problems saw a PA, they did urinalysis but never read the report or contacted us. 2 months later when he returned they said oops we forgot to contact you. They gave him antibiotics 2 months after the fact. After he informed the PA we received a phone call they wanted him to come back again to redo the test. I have not been in over a year due to their staff. I gave them a try yesterday. I had a heart attack in March. Needed script refills for my anxiety from my prognosis. I filled out new paperwork to make sure they had all the right information. Today I went to get prescriptions and the pharmacy had no idea what I was referring to. The staff had called in the script to a pharmacy I had not used in 5 years (after my new paperwork). Called the office and they stated they would call to right office. They did… but only one of the two scripts being filled. I had one script that was a compound yet the compounding pharmacy states they also had nothing and when they contacted the office the girl told them there was nothing in my file about a compounded script. They did blood work to see if I am in heart failure. Lord knows where that is.

I can not say enough great things about Dr. Monroe and his staff. Over the years I have referred several friends and family to his office.
