Dr. John Munyak, MD

Waist of time.

After seeing a few different orthopedic doctors, he was the only one that diagnosed my issues and put a plan of action that will keep me free of knee replacement surgery. Doesn't have an agenda to suggest surgery as I have experienced with top notch Doctors in elite hospitals in Manhattan. His ability to diagnose is remarkable and feel lucky that I was recommended to him.

I am really upset with the way I was treated lately by the doctor and his office staff. The doctor does not return calls for days. His admin is always trying to brush you off. She says that she will, but never does anything or if she does, it is done in the wrong way. She could not order medicine for me for days, when all it takes is a 5 min call to a pharmacy. I was sent for tests, but then I could not obtain the results for weeks. They send you to do MRI to the location of their choice, no to the one that is convenient for you. The doctor and his office were much better and showed more care a few years ago, when I first saw the doctor, but now it all went south. I am not going to go to this doctor anymore.

Dr Munyak is a really nice person. Gets to know you, speaks to you, tries to understand the patient. He left to go to greener pastures and of course who can blame him. He took every angle to fully diagnose my issues. I went in for a bum elbow and he figured out about past injuries himself and realized that many of the injuries that I push out of my mind were recurring and making my life hellish. He addressed them as best possible for a non-surgical facility and tried to help me best possible. We need more doctors like him.

I rushed myself from Manhattan where I had fallen and with the adrenalin pumping drove through the tunnel and onto the expressway to North Shore Hospital.I was seen within a half hour by Dr. John Munyak. The compassion of this doctor towards my injury and the care which followed could not have been better under any circumstances.I was treated and handled with such expertise and made to feel so comfortable. I knew I was in good hands. .It was a little later that I found out his specialty of sports medicine and my dislocated shoulder injury went together to make a perfect fit. The Lord was watching out for me when I was cared for by this emergency room physician.I am so grateful.
