Dr. Jennifer John Alex Oconnell, MD

One of the best physicians in orthopedics who I ever had and I have had a lot. Accurate diagnosis, worked with me and double checked all issues. Friendly, but straight forward. Couldn't ask for a better doctor.

Seemed knowledgeable about the medicine but is not supervising the staff so that they are professional. Scheduler dismissed me when I couldn't tell her what injection the doctor ordered. Her follow up was rude and impatient. I spoke to O'Connell about it and I wound up going to another doctor. O'Connell is not a great communicator either.

Dr. O'Connell was very thorough. She read through the MRI reports as well as viewing the images. Afterwards, she examined my neck and shoulder and explained everything in detail. Dr. O'Connell will be following my progress with PT as well.

I made an appointment with Dr. O'Connell to address my lower back pain. He was referred by the Cleveland Clinic customer Service personnel. On my appointment date, after checking in at Cleveland Clinic, I was called by his Nurse who was very kind and knowledgeable. After her, Dr. O'Connell came to see me. After 5' of physical examination he prescribed physiotherapy ,telling me that there was no cure for what I was felling (which I still don't know what I have). He said he wouldn't request an MRI because it won't help as the pain cannot be related with results and also my insurance wouldn't pay for it. He sounded (each word) like a robot! If you are looking for a good doctor, don't go see this one. BTW, my insurance pays for MRIs.

I had to see Dr. O'Connell for a severe herniated disc issue (diagnosed with MRIs) while my doctor was on maternity leave. He is cold, curt and comes off as uncaring to the needs and comfort of his patients. After his consult I was scheduled for spinal steroid injection a month later to help alleviate the pain. During that month wait I came back to see him to prescribe me a more effective pain Rx as I was not sleeping well and could not drive an hour to my work without intense pain. He made me feel not welcome there, and in addition accused me of asking him to commit fraud when I asked him for a note so I could work remotely until the injection was completed. Due to his unprofessional behavior I completed treatment (and surgery) at another area hospital with doctors who demonstrate much more care and concern for their patients. Would not recommend this doctor at all.

He's the best there is always concerned about ones well being very patient and informative . We the islanders love him along with his awesome staff.

My mother was suffering from severe pain due to pinched nerves in her lower back. She was so pleased with Dr. O'connell professionalism and how well he treated her. She gives him 5 stars for the epidural treatment he gave her.

Best doctor ever

Curt, dismissive, cold. Was taken aback that any health care provider would really be this way with any patient. A proper diagnosis requires two way communication.

Very professional with good results.
