Dr. John Jacob Oppenheimer, MD

Originally scheduled a Monday 1:30pm appointment on a scheduled half day of school. Due to a weekend snow storm, school advised that they might change Monday's schedule from half day to delayed opening full day. I called office on Friday to explain situation and asked whether I should just reschedule? They said to keep the appointment, that there were no problems for cancelling due to weather. Our school did end up going with the delayed opening and so I cancelled the appointment. However, now they didn't consider it "weather" related since their office was still open. Staff informed me that it was likely Dr Oppenheimer would refuse to see us now, and they wanted to schedule us with another doctor. No thank you.

We were told that he was a stickler for appointment time - and cancellations required 48 hours notice. We arrived for a 1:30 appointment at 1:15, only to be told the actual time of the appointment was 2:00. This was false, and took a much larger chunk out of our day as a result. Also, I was very specific in the intake call that we did not need an allergy test - we know the allergies. This appointment was to discuss allergies/asthma/Eczema - When there, they immediately did a test (unneeded or wanted), and gave a few prescriptions for eczema. I thought this very unprofessonal and slip shod. He was recommended to me by several neighbors, but I wouldn't go back. Doctors and back office don't communicate with one another and charts/patient expectations were not met. Disappointing and time consuming for no reason. We could have had our regular doctor prescribe a topical - we went to an 'expert' for a reason.

Arrogant, pompous, boastful to name s few traits. He’s his own biggest fan. Made an appt in the morn for the same day as a result of another person’s cancellation. I called back an hour or two later and they charged me for not cancelling within 24 hours. Staff could not see how it was impossible for me to gave cancelled within 24 hours. He was a robot and kept saying the same policy over and over again. Dr Oppenheimer repeatedly brags about his celebrity patients, Picabo Street being one and a “very very very very very famous player in the NHL” ????

I was a patient of Dr. Oppenheimer's for a little over twenty years. I never had a late bill, and for the most part my experiences with him were good. Last year I had two appointments that I had to cancel with Dr. Oppenheimer that I had to cancel the day of because of a severe injury to myself and a family emergency. Besides still charging me for both appointments, as a result of my late cancellations Dr. Oppenheimer withheld my asthma medicine that I need to survive. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone based on this and regardless of my twenty plus years of experience with him I will never see him again because of this.

THE STAFF ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE MIDNIGHT BEFORE I HAD TO GO TO MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER FOR EXTREME TMJ PAIN LEFT 6AM FOR PREDNISONE PILL BECAUSE I CANT SLEEP SATURDAY NIGHT THEN I COME IN TO SEE DR OPPENHEIMER WAITING IN THE EXAM ROOM THINKING I MIGHT GO OFF ON THE DOCTOR WHEN HE WAS THE ONE THAT WAS VERY IMPAITENT TOLD ME THAT MY ALLEGIST IS MORE OF A GI EVERYTIME WHEN I TOLD HIM MY MEDICAL HISTORY HE WOULD CUT ME OFF PARANOID TOLD ME I HAVE SEEN YOU FOR 20 MINUTES AS A COURTESY WHICH WASNT TRUE HE ONLY SAW ME FOR 10 MINUTES OR LESS THEN I TOLD HIM CANT YOU PLEASE LET ME TALK DIDNT WORK AND ITS SCARY BECAUSE HE TOLD ME EVEN lactaid milk IS BAD FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BOARDLINE TO DAIRY WHICH I'M NOT DOCTOR BUT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE AND ON TOP OF THAT I HAD RENAL CANCER IN THE LEFT KIDNEY WHICH HE DIDNT CARE I WAS MORE MENTALLY STABLE THEN HIM

I tried making an appointment the Dr. after expressing that I had an emergency. The receptionist was the farthest thing from helpful. Terrible way for a new patient to feel.

He was so rude, pretty much told me he had no time for my child as he was super busy and my child would take too much time to get better.

Dr. Oppenheimer shows genuine concern to his patient. I missed his services when I left New Jersey in 2013. Now that I am back, he is in on top of my bucket list to visit for my asthma and allergies.

My first visit to Dr. Oppenheimer resulted in an immediate and huge positive change in my allergy/asthma issues.

I enjoyed visiting Dr. Oppenheimer as he was so direct and sure on my diagnostic. I highly recommend him and he takes good care of the patient's anxieties. A rare ability to calm the patient down, jokes with the patient, and creates a very nice atmosphere while treating you. No hesitation on telling he is the best in his profession.
