Dr. John Stanley Rabun, MD

While medically qualified, Dr. Rabun has the personality of a fish. Seriously, the guy has no personality whatsoever. I continue to see him ONLY because he accepts my health insurance and many other local providers do not. I see him about twice a year for my anxiety disorder. I am hoping that one day this will be behind me and I can stop these visits. He's not doing me any harm, but I wonder how much he's helping. It is very hard to relate to him during my 15 minute visits which cost $200.

Irresponsible drug peddler. Mr. Rabun, because he really shouldn’t be allowed to be called doctor, is only concerned with lining his wallet and treating wealthy people that pad his bank accounts. First, he got me mentally dependent on ketamine at the max dosage at four times a week. Then the rules changed, and I wasn’t allowed to do it at home anymore. When I heard this I told him the news was devastating and that I relied on it for pain relief and severe depression. He laughed at me and blew me off and told me it would be fine. Just one of the many condescending moments I had with this man. He told me we could try troches which are a compounded pill. They had zero effectiveness and we’re not covered by insurance so cost almost $200 for like 10 pills. When I called to attempt to make a plan he refused to talk to me and I had to go through his secretary. I was then told by the secretary that it was $100 to come in each time and have the doctor inject me even though I’ve been doing it… myself for over a year. It would have been $1600 a month which is more than my mortgage. After pleading with the office for a solution for weeks, I never heard back from the doctor. He never checked in on me even though this event caused a massive spiral downward. A year later I was having severe pain and depression episodes. I called his office and told them that I needed a rescue dose and had come up with $100 and I wanted to make an appointment. After arriving and of course waiting well past my appointment time, and after paying the hundred dollars, Mr. Rabun asks me in a huff what I’m doing there before my butt even hits the seat. Before I could even get the words out of my mouth about the trauma I was going through, he told me he wasn’t going to give me a rescue dose and that’s not how it worked. At that point I told him, it’s exactly how it works. The whole point is that I am allowed to escape my pain and depression for 20 to 30 minutes at a time and it’s better than no relief at all. I had always been honest with him about the function of ketamine for me and told him all along that it had never changed my overall depression but only allowed those brief moments of relief. As far as I’m concerned this man should be ashamed of himself, and should lose his medical license because he is irresponsibly prescribing ketamine to make himself rich. It takes about twenty seconds to inject a patient and then he leaves the room checking on you by opening the door and nodding his head once the entire time you are there . So how many patients can he do at a time at $100 a pop? I wonder if there’s a yacht somewhere called Special K Doc. There’s a special place in you know where for doctors that don’t actually care about their patients.

I have never had a real issue with Dr Rabun , it is his staff and office procedures. The staff are rude and snippy. They are all about the money. I missed a appt. due to serious medical issue and I was charged $100.00. This office will not work with you financially. They refuse to release my medical file until i pay. My new Dr even requested my file! Dealing with persons with psychological problems this is ridiculous!

I was examine by this Doctor n for a state ordered exam.He should have been disqualified becaue his wife "Tommy" was a supervising RN at Barnes Hospital, where I was a patient in her ward. Rabun never made inhis report thsi apparent conflict of interesti his state ordered report.
