Dr. John Anthony P Rimmer, MD

Dr. Rimmer performed a double mastectomy on me in 2019. I had invasive lobular carcinoma larger than 10 centimeters. Dr. Rimmer failed to remove any lymph nodes or lymph tissue for the pathology sample even though he removed one completely cancerous node in the operation. When I questioned him about that after the surgery, he said there were no other cancerous nodes because he would have felt them, he said I did NOT need any further surgery, that radiation and drug treatment was sufficient. I was told the opposite by Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) who found and removed 9 metastatic cancerous lymph nodes missed by Dr. Rimmer in the 2nd surgery they did. There is much more that cannot fit in this review (like additional tissue and my nipple that had to be removed by MSK). I often wonder if I had not gotten a 2nd opinion if I would be alive to write this review. There are many reasons I did not write this review earlier, but I now feel emotionally able to write about my experience.

Dr. Rimmer was very emphatic my husband, sister and I thought he was Top Notch!!

Dr Rimmer is such a gifted surgeon! As a retired OR nurse,I have a keen sense for a Dr who is detailed , through, humble,gentle, kind, listens and is genuinely concerned!!!!!! Wow that's a high expectation for someone but Dr Rimmer exceeded them all. My scares from surgery look like a plastic surgeon did them! His staff are so kind and caring as well... what a hugh blessing to have found him!!!! Hope you never need his talent but if you do.... he's the one!

Dr.Rimmer is one off a kind... AFfter searching for the right surgeon all over the state of Fla I came to Dr Rimmer .I knew imediately he was going to be my surgeon. Informative,patient, and compassionate just name some of the qualities Dr Rimmer possesses. He holds your hand from the beginning to the end of your journey.If you are looking for a smart educated top notch surgeon Dr Rimmer is your man. The office is very organized and will request of necessary paperwork film etc up front before your initial appointment. I'm so happy to have put my trust and confidence in Dr. Rimmer.He is truly stands out from his peers !

Dr. Rimmer was professional and informative during our visit. However, after leaving I had some questions about future tests that were ordered. I called the office nurse twice and she could not answer my inquires . Instead the tests were blindly ordered again. The Dr. never called me to answer my questions. Instead the office manager got on the phone, didn't listen to a word I had to say, then told me to "stop talking." She then said she was going to begin recording our conversation. When I told her I would be finding another practice she told me that would be" "fabulous, or fantastic," something equally inappropriate. This woman should not be dealing with sick people.

DR. RIMMER IS SO WONDERFUL I SCHEDULE MY VISITS WHEN VACATIONING IN FLORIDA. HE IS KIND, SOFT SPOKEN, COMPETENT. HE TAKES TIME WITH HIS PATIENTS, RETURNS CALLS, AND IS EXTREMELY PROMPT GETTING TESTS RESULTS BACK TO YOU. HIS STAFF IS VERY ORGANIZED AND CARING.

Dr. Rimmer is a very caring and professional doctor. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a surgeon. He is a soft-spoken individual and explains everything he is doing. A wonderful find!!

When you show up for your appt, be patient. Dr. Rimmer spends a ton of time with individuals to make sure they understand exactly what is going on in each case. He takes the time to make sure you are comfortable...both during procedures and conversations! Thank you Dr. Rimmer!
