Dr. John W Sage, MD

Dr. Sage, I've known him for over 25 years, and he has always been a stand up guy. Recently, after a few years of playing hooky on my doctor appointments, I visited him at the Metrodox Clinic, and it was now an Advocate Medical Clinic. I asked Dr. Sage how he like being part of Advocate, and his eyes rolled back in his head and he said the administrative staff at Advocate were the biggest bunch of idiots he'd ever seen, and he wished every day that they never sold the clinic to them. Now Dr. Sage once saved my life by telling me that if I didn't lose weight, and start exercising, I would not be around to see old age. I listened to him, and I am in the best health now that I have ever been in my entire life, but he was so out of line complaining about Advocate, that I don't feel comfortable going to see him anymore. I have had several family members have surgery in Advocate Hospitals, and they are a fine organization. I am now shopping for a new doctor.

Dr. Sage has been been treating everyone in my family (including my husband) for over 20 years, including my special needs sister. When my sister was at her worst, he came to the house to see her. He is kind, caring, concerned, and not afraid to be tough when necessary (my husband's smoking for instance). I have been in the hospital with issues unrelated to him, and he made a point of stopping in and seeing me. He puts me at ease, makes me laugh, and always spends time with me in his office after our appointment to tell me his concerns regarding my health. As I work for the American College of Surgeons, I know the importance of a thorough, contiencious, caring doctor, and Dr. Sage is the standard barer by which I judge all my other doctors.

I have been seeing Dr Sage for more then 25 years. If he wasn't any good I would not still be going to him. He has the best bedside manner then any other Dr. I have gone to and he takes the time to make sure you understand what he is saying. Kind, Courteous and very thoughtful.
