Dr. John Wilson Samples, MD

Dr Samples is one of the great ones. He listens and actually answers any questions in a way a lay person can ununderstand. He is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. He moved away from Rancho Mirage, our loss. I hope he happy and well.

Dr. Samples is wonderful. He listens, spends time with, and truly cares about his patients.

This doctor saved my life with a routine physical by listening to my carotid arteries and discovering occlusion. This was when he worked with the VA. Now in private practice he is even more acutely attuned to his patient, extremely caring and through.

Sadly, I believe Dr Samples might be a decent MD, but there is no way to tell because the hideous and rude treatment front office staff. The receptionist chased me right away in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. I believe this behavior must be sanctioned by the MD himself. It's astounding. I've never heard of an MD that won't speak to a sanctioned patient rep outside of an appointment and then refuses to make an appointment because "he doesn't do consultations." Seems like poor judgement to me. For optimal healthcare, wouldn't an internist want to be involved in total patient care and decision-making? Truly disappointing.

Gentleness counts for alot. Listening with carefully considered responses also is important. Very busy doctor, appts. far ahead but he can only do so much. The desert is a dry seabed of medical mediocrity, so choose carefully.

Through and great attention to details regarding past health records, good at explaining results of labs, genuinely cares about your concerns!
