Dr John Schier

Dr. John Schier, Jr. is a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He attended Park Tudor High School and then received a B.S. in economics from Vanderbilt University. He earned his D.M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and was inducted into the Matthew Cryer Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Schier’s specialty training is comprised of a six-year program at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. This included earning his M.D. in 2016 and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a general surgery internship at University Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center in New Orleans. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency included a special emphasis in plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck surgery, and anesthesiology. He will conclude his training in June 2019.

Dr. Schier’s clinical focus includes office anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, dental …implants, hard and soft tissue grafting, orthognathic surgery, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, benign pathology, and the management of oral and maxillofacial trauma.

Although Dr. Schier has trained all over the country, he is still a Hoosier at heart. He enjoys playing tennis, golf, and guitar. He is excited to finally move back home to Indiana with his wife Alana and son, Jackson.
