Dr. John J Sharza, MD

Dr. Sharza is the best physician anyone could hope for. He is professional, very knowledgeable and he genuinely cares for his patients. He is exceptional at what he does. He goes above and beyond for his patients. He has followed up with me even when he isn’t in the office. I always enjoy seeing him because he is so friendly and personable. He is thorough and has excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, professionalism, and compassion. I can’t say enough good things about him. I highly recommend him and his office. His staff is just as personable as him.

In these days of "cookie-cutter" medicine I find Dr Sharza easy to talk to and easy to work with. Instead of going through all the problems a senior is supposed to have, we go over a list I bring with me and talk about possible resolutions. The staff is kind and efficient with almost no wait time in the office and has always been able to fit me into their schedule in an emergency. My only complaint is that there is no more "hands-on" in the office, no looking at a mole or checking your ears, everything must go to a specialist at more expense.

I took my son to Dr. S years and years ago. He was distracted, pompous and apathetic. I never brought my son back. After many years, maybe 20? I started to see his office mate, Dr. McGuire. On a second or third appointment, my doctor wasn't available and I was seen by Dr. Sharza… once again, he had no regard for me or my time... he was aloof and dismissive... I left that practice immediately, which is unfortunate for Dr. McGuire as I found him to be a decent doctor.

I made an appointment in his Canandaigua satellite office and had to wait for 4 hours before anyone would see me. A NP finally saw me and every time I asked a question, she had to run to the phone and ask Dr. Sharza. She did not do anything for me. Then another time I had come down with the flu and spiked a temp of over 103. I wanted to go to urgent care but for my insurance to cover it, I had to be referred by my primary. They would not refer me and told me to come back five hours later as they had no open appointments and I could see someone then. I was so sick, I went to urgent care anyway, got 2 RXs and was told not to drive or operate machinery. I was kept out of work for days. I paid for that visit out of my pocket and decided then I would not use Sharza ever again. I cannot believe that they would be so irresponsible as to have some one who was apparently very ill drive all over the country side instead of referring them to urgent care

The most obnoxious little know-it-all I have ever run across. He took care of my wife after many other doctors had missed the problem, so I will give him that, but I was about ready to punch him in the mouth, so instead I just left and said the exam was over. He couldn't give a crap.

I really like Dr. Sharza. He spent time talking with me and explaining treatments. The staff at Victor were also very nice.

Dr Sharza has always been professional and courteous. I have been his patient for more than 10 years and I can attest to the fact that he is a very caring physician, well educated and highly concerned about the well being of his patients. The wait time in his office is always short and his staff is very professional. As a medical professional I highly recommend Dr Sharza for primary care.

I've seen him 2-3 times in the last couple years, and each time I've gone I've felt he didn't give two hoots about me or my condition, even if it was pretty standard stuff.

Acts like a know it all. Does not spend much time with you. Does not care about what you came in for. Very unprofessional.

Went in for a physical, he acted completely disinterested in any response I gave to his questions. Didn't give me the opportunity to explain or voice any concerns I had. I was in and out of the exam room record time. Boy, did I waste my annual physical benefit! I will be finding a new pcp as soon as possible.
