Dr. John James Spollen III, MD

I'm a veteran of Desert Storm and have been searching for help over 20 years with physicians both inside and outside the VA healthcare system. After my first or second visit, Dr. Spollen recommended a treatment that no other physician had before. With trepidation, I followed that advice, and I have been freed from a condition that has almost ended me for 37 years. He is also very protective of my care and alert for any false information given by others. He is "present" when he's with you. He has taken care of this vet. The only negative, he's from Alabama. Go Hogs!!!

My first appointment with Dr. Spollen was interrupted 5 or 6 times by telephone calls, each of which he answered at length. It was very disappointing to realize that he didn't have the courtsey to have his calls held during this crucial initial interview. In subsequent appointments his lack of understanding has caused me great concern, in that his decisions have a substantial impact on my life. An attempt to be reassigned to a different health care provider has been rebuffed.
