Dr. John Klotz Stokes, MD

Dr. Stokes is an amazing doctor!!! My hands were going to sleep, had no feeling and was therefore dropping things I tried to pick up or hold on to. My toes were beginning to have no feeling. I went to see a different neurologist who made me think I was making it up and did not offer any help. I went to see Dr. Stokes and he was very patient and compassionate as he explained what was going on. He performed surgery and he was so knowledgeable and kind that I wasn't nervous going into the surgery. My hands and toes are back to normal. The top of one thumb occasionally goes to sleep for about 5 minutes, then back to normal. Thank you, Dr. Stokes, for helping me. I'm back to feeling the keys when I play the piano!!!!!

Dr. Stokes proved to be nothing but a misinformed, misleading, charlatan; who's not current on more effective procedures.... Nor wishes to be. BEWARE!!! "Proactive" is also a word that's not in his dictionary apparently either. He's just looking for Guinea Pigs to practice on, and eek out more experience at our expense.. The last & final time I saw him (post surgery follow up) my physical condition was progressively much worse, than before I made the mistake of meeting him, and he haphazardly performed surgery. And he had the nerve to claim my condition was looking good. Yet when I was not as bad off, when we first met, he insisted I needed surgery immediately... Not only did I have more fractures than before his surgery, but my spine deteriorated from diagonal shape, to a hideous & pronounced "S-shape" post surgery too... He even implanted more cumbersome and damaging hardware than I had agreed to, before being unconscious and in his clutches....THE BAMBOOZLING CROOK.

Dr. Stokes is great! I had back surgery with another doctor that put me in worse shape than I was before surgery. I could barely walk, and had terrible nerve pain in my back and down my left hip and leg to my shin. He also discovered a fracture in one of my vertebrae that was most likely caused by the previous doctor. I saw 5 doctors and chose Dr. Stokes as he was the most thorough, down to earth, and upfront with what needed to be done (L4-L5 fusion). It wasn't easy, but Dr. Stokes and his staff were there every step of the way. I am now 6 months post opp and doing great. Thank you Dr. Stokes for giving me my life back.

Dr. Stokes himself is pretty good. Getting an appointment is difficult because he is only in the office 2 days a week. Even after surgery he won't see you for a month. He explains things very well, but I feel like he was a little rushed to find a cause and didn't look at all of the diagnostic tests that I had done. He also will not call you himself or even see you after your surgery. His assistant does all that. He is a great surgeon but that is where his greatness stops. But heaven forbid you have to talk with, I believe her name is Ashlyn. She is a total b****. Very rude and acts like you aren't worth her time. Had to talk with her a couple of times and each time had the same experience with her. Other people on his staff were much more friendly.

If you're looking for the BEST NEUROSURGEON EVER, look no further than Dr. Stokes. After 25 years of putting off cervical surgery, I unfortunately developed myelopathy, a frightening and delibiltating condition. I saw two neurosurgeons and one orthopedic surgeon before I saw Dr. Stokes, and he explained to me in detail what I was facing. He performed both anterior and posterior cervical fusion and laminectomy from C-3 through C-6, and I am now two months post op and doing great! I can't say enough good things about this doctor; he's a miracle man. His PA's and his office staff are wonderful, kind people as well. I'm just so grateful to have found Dr. Stokes.

Dr. Stokes was great he did a wonderful job with the surgery. He has great bedside manors. He was very good at communicating my options, keeping me informed all the way through my procedure, surgery and post surgery follows.

I had 2 back Surgeries with Dr. Stokes and have had 4 more procedures with his office. They reviewed my options with me and do not do the surgery unless it is necessary. I have also been back for several injections on my hip and love this group. I highly recommend them and would use them over any other team.
