Dr. John Sullivan, MD

Hi, my name is Juan Rosa, who recently had a shoulder operation with two rotator cup tears and one bicep tear, and I’d like to take a moment to thank Dr. Saluvan for his professionalism. Outstanding doctor I recommend him to anyone now only he’s a good doctor, but he sit down and tell you from detail to details about your operation very kind man very patient, just like to thank you Dr. Saluvan for your outstanding operation to my right arm. I still look forward to my left arm to be operated Thank you once again.

I was referred to see Mr. Sullivan after my long term surgeon moved from the area. I met with a PA from his office who told me that I could not have a cortisone injection because of the chance of infection, in my implant. She initiated my having a revision surgery. Mr. Sullivan did not even meet with me and yet he decided how to proceed with my treatment. He had her cancel the preop appointments. He instructed me to have a cortisone injection in a knee that had a partial knee replacement. In addition neither he nor his PA offered me anything for the pain I had been experiencing. At this visit the PA told me to call if I was having a lot of pain, which I did but they blew me off. They informed me to come in some time more than a month later and we will see what steps we can take. I did make a complaint and the PA and the surgeon both lied to cover for their incompetence and their negligence.

Lost medical records, lost xrays. Never returns calls. Seemed to have no interest in helping in any way. Hurried the appointment and never got answers.

I am so thankful I chose Dr.Sullivan to treat my hip pain! I went to two other Dr.s prior to and Dr.Sullivan was very honest, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He was thorough as he determined the route he wanted to take and I seem to be healing appropriately following the procedure! His approach was less invasive compared to other surgeons and more practical to meet my needs based on my lifestyle. I’m thankful I chose Dr.Sullivan for my surgery!

I am - so measurably - better off for having sought Dr John Sullivan - in so many objective ways. I was told - by two orthopedic surgeons in Syracuse - that my radiology indicated two total knee replacements. I did my research, and decided I wanted the Conformis implant for both. Dr Sullivan was the closest provider for that implant. Dr Sullivan took a lot of time to get to know me as a patient and to know my person. In doing so, he noted that in spite of my radiology, I was getting around OK so he asked why - I - thought I needed total replacement. I replied that it was painful to walk downhill, hurting at the base of my knee cap. He informed me that such pain was tendinitis, which replacement would not fix. He recommended that I have partial replacement on my left knee, and arthroscopy on my right. Today, I have full range of motion in BOTH knees - impossible to attain with total replacement. And I'm left with so much more bone which means that any total replacement in the… future will be a first total replacement thus lasting longer. But I'm doing so well in both knees that I doubt I'll never need it. Also, having had previous arthroscopy on my left knee, I braced for a nine month recovery. But it took only six weeks to attain full range of motion. In fact, on day four, I could feel it improve by the hour! Finally, I returned for a bursae cyst removal, for which I was awake. I can see why my recoveries have been so positive. Dr Sullivan is a very careful and methodical surgeon. As such, I've recommended him to several I know in Syracuse. The drive is so worth it. Dr. Sullivan found a blood clot in my leg that I had no idea I had. I am so thankful I went to a doctor as thorough and as cautious as him. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Sullivan. He takes the time to answer all of your questions and never makes you feel rushed during your appointment. If I left a message with his nurse he would get back to me on the same day. I went to him initially for a hip injury but he was able to detect things that were much more serious. Amazing doctor!

Sports injury to the hamstring groin muscles, almost 2 yrs living with pain and restricted use, injections after injections finally surgery, nothing found but yet I'm in worse shape than before???
