Dr. John Howard Taylor, MD

Although never for anything super serious, I've been a patient of Dr. Taylor for more years than I can count. Never have had negative issues. Am disappointed he works mostly out of Chula Vista now, though.

This Doctor is unable to listen and unable to feel any empathy with patients like in many others reviews. As a patient, I was treated the more gross and horrible manners for this doctor. This a very awful experience. Also, he has had some obsolete instruments that cause more pain than can help for an exact diagnosis. I will NOT RECOMMENDED him in a million years.

Very bright and thorough. Great diagnostician. Excellent head and neck surgeon.

Refused to give my daughter antibiotics (other doctors in the practice said she should have them beacuse of a prior problem) took her to see him twice in one week. Less than 24 hours later we were rushed through ER and admited to the hospital for 3 nights because her throat was closing up. First thing they did was put her on an IV antibiotic. Staff at the hospital could not believe Dr. Taylor had seen her 24 hours prior and not done something. Worst experience I have ever had - avoid this doctor at all costs!

Overall the experience was better than some doctor's offices.

went in with ringing and cotton feeling in ear, he looked in ear said looks good, did hearing test, that passed. went home now, they keep calling and bugging me to come back, when I called she said "he wants to do another audiology(hearing) test" - I said WHY if I passed with flying colors the first time? she didn't know. Then I get a certified letter in the mail, trying to scare me into coming back in. I called again and she said "he wants you to come back for another hearing test" - since I passed the audiology test already- why are they insisting I come back? gee could $$$ be why? When I was there, I did not feel like this doctor really cares about his patients

This doctor is an excellent specialist. I would recommend him to all. He fixed my nose problem in one visit, wow. I suffered for almost a year before deciding to go and see a doctor and to have a doctor fix my sinus problems in one visit, excellent work. Give him a (A+).

I simply needed a prescription for a gland infection that had become unbearably painful. I asked him for steroids (since that what I was given before and was what helped)...he didn't feel it was necessary. That night, I ended up in the ER because my throat was closing up on me...what did they do at the ER? give me steroids!! Additionally, he said they would call within the next couple of days to schedule a c-scan. It took them THREE WEEKS to call me for an appointment!! Worst doctor not even capable of writing the correct prescription for the simplest of conditions.
