Dr. John Alan Towbin, MD

He was the only doctor who finally figured out my seizures and got them under control. Excellent!

I had three seizures within a year and the Nuerologist at the hospital put me on medication and I never saw him again. I decided to seek another Neurologist, and with a recommendation from a friend an appointment was make with Dr Towbin. Dr sent me to multiple specialists and began follow up with additional testing. He is one of those Dr.'s you want to rule out everything and just not medicate the problem!

He is very compassionate, he helped me get in touch with a local support group. He truly cares about his patients.

John Towbin a very smart doctor with a huge heart. I would give him the highest rating that can be given.

I truly enjoy the the amount of time that he spends with me. Because he takes the time to listen to the questions you have and to answer them to where you can understand the answers. :-)

Excellent doctor. Good bedside manner. Easy to talk with and understand. He explains everything on my level, just ask him questions.

I have had Epilepsy for 18 years and I have had every Nuro (except towbin) that I have ever seen tell me "I don' think that what you have is Epilepsy but I don't know what else you could have. Here is your same meds you have always taken. See you in a few months" So here I am with a diagnosis that I am questioning but have no one willing to answer it. One nuro even went as far as to say I had a brain tumor that he couldn't find only to say I was faking my seizures. (it's really hard to hold your breath long enough to turn purple you know???) Then FINILY I meet Dr. Towbin, I was crying in releif the first time I met him. I was in the hospital for a week long Video EEG and he came in to talk to me. He sat down with VERY GOOD bed side manner and explained to me my condition as if he had been treating me from the very begining. I had not even had a seizure on the EEG at this time. He told me that I DID have Epilepsy but that I also had "abnormal electrical activity" coming from my heart… which was causing seizures. SO I infact have 2 different conditions that cause me to have 2 different kinds of seizures. I had 3 seizures on the EEG and I was discharged from the hospital on a much more tollerable dose of medication (have been seizure free since) and I have seen a cardiologist that has confirmed his findings and it has been a month I have followed up with him only to receive the same bedside manner and tears of releif when he has now diagnosised another condition that has puzzled my "doctors" for the last 6 years. So in 2 visits, 1 in the hospital and 1 in clinic, not to mention he has spent hours on the phone with me bacause I am 5 hours away from him. He has accuratly diagnosised 3 conditions (all with medical evidence to back it up) that have puzzled everyone else to the point of saying I was lying. (My other Doctors never had ant explinations or medical evidence to back up theor diagnosis) Dr. Towbin explains EVERYTHING to where YOU can understand it. So you know what he is diagnosising you with and why. I have never finished a conversation with him and had unasnwered questions or disagreed with his findings. My diagnosis also seem so simple that I can't understand why the other drs missed them. I LOVE DR. TOWBIN and recomend hime to ANYONE haveing ANY trouble with their current dr. PLEASE SEE HIM. HE IS MY ANGEL!!!
