My motivation for going through with a Mommy Makeover was to have the confidence of my exterior self as I have of my interior self. I am a wife and mother, so I had real "Mom Guilt" about spending such a chunk of money on myself, but then I reminded myself, I AM WORTH IT! I am now three (3) weeks post surgery and cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for Dr. J. Brad Turner. The most vulnerable part of this journey, was right before they brought me into the operating room, when Dr. Turner had to draw on me. I had so many emotions flying around, trying to stay calm, I could not fathom, a "Stranger" seeing me completely nude (I am naturally modest with my body) and drawing on my body (I mean all up and personal). I would compare it to my fear of public speaking. Whenever I have had to speak publicly, I close my eyes for a second an envision everyone naked and that usually helps get through the speech. So as Dr. Turner noticed me getting nervous (he is very in tune with the… psyche), he calmly spoke to me, and assured me that it was going to be okay. I then closed my eyes for a "few" seconds (like I do with public speaking) and then opened my eyes, with no more fear, but with relief, I trusted Dr. Turner with my life. To look down on him drawing on me in my most vulnerable state I can ever recall, and seeing, such a kind, smart, professional (and bonus he's quite handsome.... and married with a beautiful wife and children), was invigorating to know that he was going to make me his piece of art. After the surgery, you will be in a fog like mindset, but I remember waking up, the Nurse was getting me dressed and I looked straight ahead and saw Dr. Turner sitting and truly observing me with care. I could hardly speak, but he heard me mutter that I wanted my car to be warm and he asked if I had seat warmers, I nodded, and he ensured the Nurse to call my husband to make sure my seat warmer was on and the car was warm (it's those small things that matter), Dr. Turner listens. A little over a year prior to going through with this, I consulted with Dr. Turner and decided to listen to my Mom Guilt. In that year I witnessed two (2) different individuals, from different areas of Kentucky, show me the body contouring they had done by a surgeon. It was impeccable work! Knowing I really wanted to go through with the Mommy Makeover, I asked them, "Do you mind telling me who your surgeon was?". It was Dr. Turner, for both! That was all I needed to confirm I had consulted with the best doctor. I also want to shout out to Miranda Dean, RN. Her energy is so comforting, she is very down to earth and easy to speak with. Honestly, her and Dr. Turner make a great duo. The office atmosphere is so tranquil with the administrative members so pleasant. You can tell they have an all hands on deck approach, which speaks volumes to how they feel about their jobs (they are professionals that treat you with superb customer service). I hands down recommend Dr. J. Brad Turner, MD and his team of Lexington, Kentucky!
