Dr. John J Vaccaro, MD

Dr. Vaccaro diagnosed me with a serious illness but offered me no resources to deal with it, not even a brochure or a web site to visit. I recommend that if you are diagnosed with a serious neurological problem that you go to a Center of Excellence (there are three in Manhattan) where there are more resources available.

He did not examine me nor did he know any of the medications. I did not feel comfortable to be under his care. Please look elsewhere if you need proper care.

This was my first opportunity of seeing Dr. John Vaccaro, Neurologist, at Summit Medical Group, Clifton. Without discussing my specific health issue here, my symptoms, to the untrained person, could have pointed to a very serious condition; I came into Dr. Vaccaro's office with significant anxiety, apprehension, and fear. Dr. Vaccaro permitted me to explain to him my specific health issues leading up to the current "episode". Following an initial brief exam, Dr. Vaccaro announced that he was certain that my problem was not as serious as I had anticipated. He calmly explained to me the nature of my issue and advised me as to how he arrived at that diagnosis; He then prescribed medication. Dr. Vaccarro also performed a thorough exam of my face and body which confirmed his earlier diagnosis. Prior to arriving at his office, I knew I would want a physician who was compassionate, caring, understanding, and knowledgeable; all of that was found with Dr. Vaccaro.

Diagnosis and time spent weren't satisfying. Not someone I would recommend

Dr. Vaccaro is brilliant, He is careful, intelligent, sympathetic and helpful. I highly recommend him if you will be facing a life long and life changing illness, this isn't baby stuff - he treats serious illness of the brain! He always helps me and it has been 8 years of me counting on him!

I didn't like Dr. Vaccaro. He has no bedside manner. He treated me, not as an individual but collectively in the pile of people who don't like to go to work. And, in doing so, sent me back to work when I wasn't ready resulting in another concussion. Could this have happened if I didn't go back right away, sure. It is my contention that Dr. Vaccaro, who receives money from school boards, etc.., sent me back to early resulting in a head trauma that is still debilitating a year later. Unfortunately, there isn't a pill or procedure that can cure a concussion. It is my opinion that Dr. Vaccaro profits in sending people back to work, even if they aren't well enough to go back to work. For your sake, see another doctor. It will be in your best interests.
