Dr. John Steven Walczyk, MD

My father had skin cancer on his forehead a few years ago, and about 6 months ago, we met Dr. Walczyk for the first time. At that time, Dr. Walczyk applied some treatment on his forehead without consulting me or my father who has difficulty in communicating in English. I just let it go since it was our first appointment with Dr. Walczyk after all. Today, after the routine exam, I wanted to ask a few questions. That was when I was confronted by his staff demanding to know the nature of my request to talk to the doctor. I explained the situation, and one of the staff just went into his office. Less than 30 seconds later, the staff, not the doctor, came back saying there was nothing to worry about or discuss. I demanded at that point that I needed to talk to Dr. Walczyk, and that's when Dr. Walczyk came out to talk to me. It was very clear that he was irritated and didn't want to be bothered. After less than a minute of terse explanation, he just walked right back into his office. Wow??

Loved doctor buf office. staff does not know what they are doing. Very disappointed. Will never go back

This is the first time I have ever written a poor review on any physician. As prompt as the appointment may be, it's because interaction with the office staff and physician are brief, cold and impersonal. 3 minutes is all you get and you are lucky if your questions are addressed. That includes biopsies and results. I highly do not recommend.

Dr Walczyk is great. Unfortunately t takes sometimes months to get an appointment with him. One star less because of his front desk staff, that is extremely rude.

I had laser treatment done at Manhasset Dermatology by one of the other doctors on staff and I had basically no results. I went 6 times, paid a lot of money each time and saw absolutely no change. I finally decided to commute into Manhattan and see someone there and after just one treatment, my issue is totally gone. Maybe my results would have been different if I had seen Dr. Walczyk and not the other doctor there, but overall, I feel this office was not aggressive enough. I paid a lot of money for nothing and I won't go back there again for that reason.
