Dr. John R Willard, DO

We have been patients of Dr. Willard for over 30 years. Now our daughter and her husband and our son are patients also. Dr. Willard is a perfect example of why we need Family Practice Doctors in America! He knows his patients. He is the on-call Dr. when the office is closed and he answers the phone personally, not some recording. When my wife's insurance company dropped most of her doctors from their network, she still decided to see Dr. Willard and we pay office visits out of pocket. Dr. Willard's office staff exhibits the same caring, courtesy, and commitment that he does. I am sorry there are only 5 stars in the rating system because 5 stars don't do him justice.

I have been a patient of Dr Willard's for decades, reason being he is a rare find, indeed. How many times have you gone to any doctor, talked about your issues but you felt he or she was interested more in watching the clock than listening to you? Dr Willard is NOT this way in the least. This doctor ACTUALLY LISTENS! What a concept! Gee, a doctor who actually WANTS to hear what you have to say because your needs ARE important and he actually truly wants to help you in whatever way he can. I defy you to find a doctor who will give you his FULL attention and who does not matter how long it takes to best understand your complication. If you are seeking to find a highly qualified and caring primary doctor, you will not go wrong in finding in this doctor a rare caring, responsive, compassionate, skilled individual who listens and acts swiftly toward remedying your problem in whatever way he can find. -- J.B. I have been seeing Dr. Willard for about a year now, and I am very happy with his knowledge, communication skills and his staff! He is a very good listener, too. Since he is a DO doctor, he not only treats my illnesses, he also does craniosacral therapy on my spine and neck! He is, by far, the BEST family practice doctor I have ever seen! I highly recommend him and all of his staff!!

I selected Dr Willard because he was a D.O. He was supposed to be trained on how to be an holistic doctor. not once did he ever address my hypertension with the recommendation of exercise, nor diet. Nor did he address the many supplements I take that might be contributing to my hypertension, but when I detailed out all of the supplements I take in a letter, and all of my concerns that I may be taking too many supplements. I suggested that perhaps my hypertension was from emotional stress, and I left a detailed chart that Vodka is the only thing that immediately drops my BP to near normal. I wanted to understand why it does that. I immediately received a letter from my doctor that his expertise is beyond my needs and essentially told me in the letter to take my files and hit the road. I replied that he is not practicing as a D.O. and told him he should drop the D.O, from his title. He did not respond and mailed me my files. I have never been so insulted and left what occurred in… public forums relating to doctors. Does anybody have any insight as to why he and Mary Mullins have abused me so? They don't talk to me person to person like a real person, I am only a part on an assembly line that is discarded if I don't go along the conveyor belt like all the other parts in the factory. Is that taboo to say that vodka drops my BP to normal? I figured this is a ground breaking discovery, it's the type of thing that creates nutrients or drugs to mimic the effect. I figured they would find that fascinating and research it, but instead they ban me like it was something they were trying to keep secret for centuries.

Dr John R Willard is supposed to be a D.O. an holistic doctor skilled in treating people not strictly with drugs, but he shows no sign of being a D.O. In the years of being a patient at his office he never once set me up on an exercise or nutritional program to treat my hypertension as I don't tolerate most of the drugs prescribed, nor had he questioned any concern over the supplements that I was taking. When I brought up nutritional questions relating to what might be causing my hypertension I get a certified letter stating that his office will no longer be able to continue caring for me, that my medical needs are beyond their expertise and advised me to find another physician. I advised him he should drop the D.O. in his title, because he is not providing the services of a D.O. Now I am in search of a real D.O.

Because of our distance from his office - we decided to go to a much closer family practice. MISTAKE! Dr. Willard and his staff [smiling - understanding - and, so competent...] are surely worth the much longer drive...and we are going back!!

Dr. Willard is very compassionate and engaging. His bedside manner reflects that he's very conscientious about patient care and making uncomfortable situations non-threatening.

I have been a patient of Dr Willards practice for fifteen years. I have seen just about everyone there over the years. Dr. Robertson has become my primary lately, but everyone there is wonderful. I had to move to another state, but still travel back to Colorado to see them because I have never found a better doctor.

I began seeing Dr. Willard when my 2 sons were babies. (They're now in their 20's). He is such a kind and gentle doc, they loved him, and looked forward to seeing him. He has such a compassionate bed side manner, always listened, took the extra time to ask about their sports etc.. Always solved our medical issues/concerns, and make us feel better. He and Clemy were a wonderful support for this single mom. They made a 'big deal' out of the boys, leaving all of us feeling very important. I can't speak highly enough of him, and his staff. Thank You Dr. Willard, for all your years of help!
