Dr. John Matthew Wright, MD

I've seen Dr. Wright for almost 2 years, and I honestly can't say enough good things about him! Dr. Wright finally diagnosed me with Narcolepsy type 1 after living undiagnosed for 9 years. He was my 4th sleep specialist. He's warm, friendly, and encouraging, but he also kept my expectations realistic. He told me that I wouldn't feel 100% normal again, but treatment would still change my life and help me stay awake! I see him every few months for medication management and follow-up, and definitely won't be going anywhere else until he retires! Narcolepsy is a hard diagnosis to live with, but my treatment plan gets a little better with every visit. Dr. Wright recognized my interest in medical science early on, and he allows me to take an active role in treatment decisions. We discuss different medication options, and then he asks me what we should try next! I never feel rushed, and if he can't answer a question I have, he'll find someone who can. He considers my care even when I'm not… in his office, and has his nurse call me in between appointments when he has an idea or question. For me, he's not just my doctor, but also a supportive friend who truly understands what it's like to live with narcolepsy!

I am the care giver for my sister who was Dr Wright's patient for several years . My sister has since passed on to be with the Lord. While caring for my sister Dr Wright went above and beyond what was expected. He listened and considered our request and went out of his way to continue in giving the best care possible. I can't say enough to express my appreciation.
