Dr. Jon Carlos Bowar, MD

The review likening this clown to a 1970s doctor couldn't be any more accurate. Truly a vile and undereducated fool who somehow managed to get a PhD. Also, I have reviewed this person before and it's vanished so I'm doing it again. You need to continue your education to maintain licensure, which clearly Carlos has not done.

It’s your opinion and you have a right to express them. In my opinion I think he’s a great Doctor. Helped me by taking the right med, not one but 2 meds to finally feel relieved. I struggle with suicidal thoughts and self harm, he made sure I felt safe in the hospital. I’ve had someone in a psychiatric field who didn’t even listen to me at all and Dr. Bowar was exact opposite, he listen well! He’s a hero who don’t wear cape, doing what he can to help people with their mental illness. I’m grateful for meeting this man to help me get back on my feet.

Doesn't take time to listen to patient, reminiscent of 1970s doc. Very scary. God help you.

Pushes Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). I think that was all he cared about and where he makes his money. I was basically forced after the first horrible treatment to do 4 more until I read my patient rights. ECT is not a cure. It is a maintenance treatment that has side affects I would consider googling. I suffered memory loss, fear of hospitals, bad anxiety going to Dr's now. The most horrible experience I have gone through under a Dr.'s care. I found this statement online that clearly sums it up;When you induce a grand mal convulsion by sending 100-plus volts of electricity in the brain, you're going to create damage," says Dr. John Breeding, an Austin, Texas-based psychologist and self-described ECT abolitionist. "This is most easily seen with memory loss that many patients experience. You're talking major voltage directly into the temporal lobes of the brain. And the data is very clear that there's close to a 100 percent relapse rate, which means patients have to keep coming back… and suffer further brain damage. This is referred to as 'maintenance ECT,' rather than as a failed treatment, which is what it really is."
