Dr. Jon S. Dounchis, MD

I was very disappointed with Dr Dounchis' ability, performance, care and concern. Prior to enlisting his services I had heard he had a poor bedside manner. I am more than willing to put up with that attribute so long as someone is competent with their services. Being in very good physical condition I was optimistic about my knee replacement. I followed all pre-op and post-op guidance. I was diligent with physical therapy. It's been over a year and my knee is no better than it was prior to surgery. The pain is different, however it is ever present. It is my understanding the doctor gets a flat fee regardless of the quantity of follow-up visits for the procedure. This was very evident as I only had one follow-up visit after the surgery with his practitioner and even with the issues I was having with my recovery, the office stated there would be no further a follow-up. Please understand I am not a difficult client, was kind and of course concerned for my well-being.

I had a complete knee replacement on 3/6/23. I am 2 plus months out and still have pain. No contact from him or his staff. Total time spent with me including first appointment was less than 5 minutes. Not approachable, when calling office with an issue needed to “beg” for someone to return call which did not happen. Would never go back!!!!

This guy shouldn't practice in Naples, he's ruthless with the syringe. Left knee aching. Go elsewhere.

Go find a different doctor, he only cares about the money

After reading the reviews ALONE I will pass with this doctor to whom I made an appointment with.

He may be a good surgeon, but if you have any kind of problem after your surgeon, this is definitely not the surgeon that you want to use. He does not want to hear about any problems , pain, swelling, inability to move you knee. In his 5 min. follow up appointments, he just wants to cover his own butt by confirming the "range of motion is good". He will not address any questions that you may have. When your 5 mins is up, he will walk out of the office, even if you are in the middle of a question!! Extremely rude, and arrogant.

Very poor follow up by Dr. And Staff after Surgery if there is a problem or Question

Very impressed with his own importance / never shows any compassion or caring . Tried to explain problem with back after a fall hoping he might recommend another Dr. rudely dismissed me saying come back in a year" 'for your knees" walked out while I was still talking. CAVEATE

I am sure Dr. Dounchis is a fine doctor, however, after my insurance declined a surgery that he recommended, I made numerous attempts to speak with someone in his office. No one would call me back. After 3 weeks, I have decided to go elsewhere. Terrible patient customer service!

I had a hip replacement, and it went well. Subsequent chronic pain in the same area motivated me to return a few years later. When he came in after a CAT scan to review the results. He said, "Your back is a train wreck and your spine which is the superhighway from your brain to your body has badly broken off-ramps." After expressing this in a terse, rude manner, he immediately exited to exam room. What a despicable thing to say in a rude, uncaring manner I wonder if he had any relatives who were Doctors in Germany in the 1930s or 40s?
