Our son had a simple hernia repair. I of course was a nervous wreck! Dr. Ryckman was so kind an spent time with us explaining the procedure and why it needed to be done. Surgery went well and we couldn't be happier with Dr. Ryckman.

We had the fortune of meeting Dr. Ryckman after finding out during a routine ultrasound that our baby had gastroschesis. As first time parents, you can imagine the anxiety and helplessness that accompanies such news. A few weeks later, we were introduced to Dr. Ryckman...he thouroughly explained the surgery and answered all of our questions. He was in no hurry to leave our meeting, he had all the time and care in the world for us and our situation. About 3 months later, we welcomed our baby girl into the world. And 8 minutes after she got here, she headed to the OR with Dr. Ryckman...and we didn't worry a bit, we knew she was in good hands. One hour and 20 minutes passed (and it seemed like 2 minutes) before he came into the room where we were waiting. All was well, and our baby girl was on her way to recovery. There is no apparent scarring, and our little girl is on her way to a healthy and happy life. I didn't know things like this were possible. Dr. Ryckman is an… exceptional surgeon, and if your child ever has the misfortune to require surgery, you'll be blessed if you happen to have the opportunity to meet him.
