You will not find a better spinal surgeon anywhere. Took time to answer all my questions before surgery and fixed my neck perfectly. No more pain! What a relief.

I assume he did the surgery because I have had no follow up from the surgeon. I have only seen nurses and PAs since the original visit. This is one of the worst doctor’s offices I have ever dealt with. He did fix my neck pain, thank God, but don’t plan on follow up from this surgeon.

I was referred to this physician by a spinal neurologist. Upon arrival, he claimed he did not receive the records yet I had brought with me numerous MRIS and NCV studies. He said he was happy to answer questions, but without the neurologist records he could not really answer anything. Pathetic. He could not read and Interpret 5 MRIS? The records from the neurologist were there. He was too lazy to bother asking his assistant/nurse to look for the records. He was so nasty. He told me to go to the doctor who had done my carpal procedure. I was so fortunate to find the BEST neurosurgeon in Winston Salem. He needed only the last MRI and knew what to do. A two level fusion ASAP. Funny as they both attended the same medical school. My neurosurgeon won an incredible award in neurosurgery. Dr. Silver, I don’t think so.

Dr Silver has done 4 back surgeries on my husband and myself over the years. The last extra on my husband was because he did not want to do what Dr Silver recommended so went ahead with surgery and would up having to go back and do what he should have done to begin with, no fault of Dr Silver's. We have always had the upmost confidence in Dr Silver and we can both testify to his ability, his kindness and compassion in dealing with us, and the success of what he has done. We would highly recommend to anyone and would certainly go to him again if necessary.

Fused C4-5, C5-6, did not take vertebrae spurs pressing on spinal nerve off as stated to relieve pain and numbness in left arm. Not happy.

After working in an ICU and other medical arenas in my career, I have found most neurosurgeons to be "matter of fact, to the point" and that is it....sometimes almost "cold" in their demeanor. Dr Silver exemplifies all that a neurosurgeon should be....competent, compassionate, understanding, and taking the time to really listen and care about their patient and what they are experiencing....on top of that he is an expert in his profession!

Waiting was not problem because spent as much time as needed when saw physician. Did not feel rushed. He preformed 3 surgeries One cranial, 2 spinal over 6 years. The out comes were excellent and surpassed expectations. Traveled over 700 miles for both spinal operations because of success with first experience..

Dr.Silvers done my back surgery back in 2007 and I would recommend him to be the best. So far I.ve not had no trouble and I still have pain but I.ve tried to deal with it the best I can. Thanks for taking care of me.

Very thorough in explaining condition and options. Patient with all of my questions and as I learned more, he was available and willing to explain more. This is atypical for Orthopedist and surgeons in my experience. I was advised to see a neurosurgeon as I was told they tend to more conservative in treatment approach. After second opinion, I found little difference between neurosurgeon and orthopedist regarding my spine condition.

Dr. Silver did cervical neck surgery onme about 16 years ago. He was great. He was very confident that he could help me. Explained my MRI results in terms that I could understand. He gets 2 thumbs up from me!!!!!!!!!
