Dr. Jonas Mansson, MD

I saw Dr. Jonas Mansson a few years ago for a hernia surgery. When I asked him a question in my first meeting, he seemed very nice and agreeable. Later, I now have the impression it was to expedite the two pre-op visits I had with him. The day of the surgery he was a few hour late, three hours i beleive? And when I heard how many surgeries he had scheduled, I realized why. I believe I was his 13th surgery that day. I would have guessed 3-5 surgeries a day for a doctor would have been a full schedule, 13 seems almost irresponsible. His advice after the surgery was to get up and “walk walk walk” I did so, and because of this, the fluids inside my torso from surgery lowered with gravity, and filled up and stretched out my lower regions causing tremendous pain, pulling something within my stomach area for 30 plus days. I was bedridden, needed constant attention, and ice packs. It was the worst pain i’ve ever felt. Worse than my a ppendicitis and worse than s hingles. The first day… it was happening, I called his office asking for help, and to speak with him. They took a message and I waited. As my body continued to swell alarmingly, I called again, insistent, he got on the phone, I told him what was happening, and he said something to the effect, “That’s fine, it’s normal.” I felt I was being placated and getting the brush off, but continued resting on the couch as the problem and swelling got worse and worse. When I saw him several weeks later for the follow up appointment, I brought up the bruising and horrible swelling I had and was about to tell him about the 30 or so days of pain (so he could have information that might help future patients from going through this, perhaps massage the legs after surgery but remain reclined until internal fluids subside a bit) but i wasn’t able to. His reaction to my telling him of my discoloration, pain and swelling was quote, “so you have blue (male genitals).” I was pretty shocked. He said this with a little attitude. His assistant in the room laughed uncomfortably, and my wife and i just sat there in awkward silence for a moment. All I can say is that it was unbelievably uncaring, and unprofessional. He was recommended to me by my neighbor that works in that hospital, and my primary doctor in the same building. I can’t recommend him, and after a few years, felt I should at least leave a record of my experience.

I had my gallbladder out yesterday and surprisingly enough I’m up walking with little discomfort. He is kind and courteous explained the procedure throughly and has a great bedside manner. I felt very comfortable and very confident in him. I was right and we need more doctors like him. Thank you Dr Mansson and your professional staff Mary L

Dr. Mansson and his entire team are the best!!! From the very beginning, explaining everything in detail, answering questions, etc. The day after my procedure, Dr. Mansson called me personally!!! I truly appreciate him and the entire surgical team for their professionalism and friendliness throughout the whole process! Thank You All!!!

Dr Manson saved my life. I had an emergency appendectomy on Jan 24 and he was my surgeon. I did not know him or his practice because I was visiting Florida for the month of January. The surgery was successful and the follow up care was very good. I saw him or one of his team daily in the hospital and they answered all my questions. I highly recommend him as a surgeon. He also has wonderful bedside manners.
