My son is 4mo old and to my knowledge we were having constipation issues, however, after speaking with Dr Africa he reassured me that this particular situation was normal and that breastfed babies can go up to 14 days without a poop so it doesn’t necessarily mean they are constipated. He addressed the issue we were having with the medication that was given to my son and the reason we weren’t seeing any results were due to not being told to give the proper dosage. Our pediatrician said she was concerned with him possibly having hirschsprung's disease and after googling it that thought was terrifying, again Dr Africa reassured me that my son does not have such diseases, he answered all of my questions he also had a very good explanation and answer to all of my questions, he even guided us on help with and when to start solid foods and all this was done virtually via video chat so I did not have to expose my son or myself to the hospital during this COVID-19 pandemic, the Sutter health… app was extremely user friendly and every single one of his nurses were so kind to me every time I called, this overall experience was fantastic and Dr Africa is so knowledgeable and down to earth he made the entire experience so professional yet gave insight on personal experiences and other infants he has seen. I Would highly recommend this GI Dr to anyone, especially someone like myself whose a first time mom with 100 questions, he was very through and made a follow up appointment and stated if we needed anything at all we can message him through the Sutter health app or call and we can arrange help in anyway, overall I wish he could be our pediatrician he was fantastic.

I loved Dr Africa he was amazing! My daughter was seen by Dr Davies for 4 years. She diagnosed her with ulcerative colitis and was on remicade for 6 1 year. I knew something didn’t feel right so I wanted a second opinion! I then seen Dr Africa and he had told me that my daughter did not have UC. He went through every lab, pathology result and imaging that she had got done. He showed me what is what. I was amazed on how he explained everything. All in all after tapering down and regular labs it turns out she did not have ulcerative colitis. If it wasn’t for Dr Africa my daughter would still be putting medication into her body when she did not need it. I would recommend him to anyone. I wish he could just be our pediatrician because of how much he has done and went out of his way to do.
