Dr. Jonathan Blau, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Blau for 7+ years. He has been a tremendous help for multiple pain issues. He has always been spot on diagnosing and treating. I trust him completely and am very grateful for all his help. I am puzzled by the negative reviews. Hard to believe they are talking about the same doctor.

Horrible bedside manners. No follow up. Never told next step. Very egotistical.

I went to see Dr Blau a few months ago for hip pain. He did one set of injections on me and I was better within days and I amam still pain free months later. I would highly recommend this Dr to anyone who needs help with back or hip pain. He really seemed to care about me and about educating me regarding my hip problem. I found him to a very down to earth and non judgemental doctor who really wants to help.

I was sent to dr Blau by my family doc's PA. At first I was open to dr blau's suggestion of trying hydrocodone for what I felt like was severe back pain. In retrospect it was a horrible idea bc over course of a few months my pain got worse and worse and doctor Blau kept upping my meds adding on long acting narcotics and additional medications. I suppose I should have just said no but I assumed that as a doctor he has some kind of end point or goal with these meds. Big mistake - I was involved in a car accident - no one got hurt (except me) thank goodness but police did a drug test which came back positive for dr blaus meds. Apparently it didn't matter that doc was prescribing meds for me as I was charged with driving under influence. I obviously stopped meds after accident but went into horrible withdrawals. I now have huge bill for car wreck, huge bill for hospital stay bc of the wreck, driving license taken away, and to top it all off my pain is back to where it was before I… met dr Blau and if anything worse. I regret Ever going to his doctor.

Dr. Blau takes time to explain everything and he cares.

Doctor seemed out of it every time I saw him. Waited almost an hour to see him each visit - my time is valuable too. All he ever did was order test after test after test - X-ray then another X-ray then an emg followed by MRI. Treatment was just physical therapy! My family doctor could have done all that. Waisted 6 months with all these tests - no relief whatsoever. Doctor is so out of it I almost think he is stoned or on some kind of medication.

Performed series of three injections on my back. Pain is now worse than ever. After 3rd inj I developed a horrible headache for which I ended up having to get a blood patch. On top of all that, dr. blau is condescending and arrogant.

Have been getting injections a long time. He continues to want to inject when another dr said I had too many steroids. Think I need another opinion before I go any further.,because nerve burn didn't help either

Dr. Blau is a very friendly dr, cares enough to find your problem. However, his PA, Susan, is very cold and rude. She wants to be the dr, but isn't! If you request your records for another dr, such as a surgeon, you will see what Dr. truly thinks of you as a pt. Very disappointing bc he's so friendly, and my records were very insulting! Will not be seeing him again.

I used Dr. Blau for over two years. He only gave me injections and did a couple of rhizotomies. Although these procedures helped some, I continued to have pain/problems. I became increasingly frustrated as Dr. Blau did not conduct any other testing or seem to want to refer me out for any other procedure or care. I was diagnosed by him with degenerative disk disease of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar disks. Since I left his services, I have been diagnosed with a herniated C5-C6 and Sjogren's Syndrome. Extremely frustrated when doctors don't want to look "outside the box". Not every patient is a textbook patient, and had he listened to me these problems may have been discovered a lot sooner. Overall he does great - gives GREAT injections...but if you continue to have pain/problems, self-refer yourself somewhere else.
