We are so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Fong. He spent a lot of time in discussion with my husband prior to bypass surgery. He patiently answered all our questions in a kind and compassionate manner. Dr. Fong performed bypass surgery on me in early November 2023. From my initial contact with him and through the surgery and my stay in hospital he was both personable and professional. He explained all aspects of surgery and follow up after. He is excellent and has excellent staff. His office is well organized and run.

I was fortunate enough to be taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Emergency when I suffered unexpected heart pain. My care from start to finish was excellent. Dr. Jonathan Fong was the heart surgeon assigned to my case and was a real blessing. Dr. Fong immediately impressed us by taking all the time necessary to not only inform us of the surgical options but but help us to be comfortable and confident in our decisions and in his abilities as well as the expected outcome of the multiple bypass and valve procedure. We never felt rushed and at the end of the consultation Dr. Fong offered to, and took the time to, pray with us. I knew then I was confident and at peace putting my life in this mans hands. Post surgery Dr. Fong’s ongoing care and follow up continued to be exceptional. I am abundantly impressed and thankful that Dr. Fong was assigned my care and recommend him highly.

If you need open heart surgery Dr. Fong is the man for you. After finding out the stent wouldn’t work for my husband & he needed double by pass surgery & his mitral valve repaired we were indecisive where to go and then we kept hearing about Dr. Fong. And we are so grateful that he was able to get my husband in to be seen quickly and surgery was scheduled for the following week. After spending time in his office and Dr. Fong explaining the whole procedure we were confident he was the one to do the surgery. We were put at ease and the day of the surgery we were text through each step and how my husband was doing. We can’t sing Dr. Fong’s praises enough and also the Sarasota Memorial Hospital staff and the patient advocates. If you are reading these reviews, you are probably searching for a cardio surgeon. Now, please, stop your effort - you've found the best. Simply cannot go better. Not enough words to express my level of gratitude for everything Dr. Fong did for me on the very short notice - quintuple bypass surgery. His demeanor and bed-side manner is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. The Doctor likes to say that Lord is our ultimate surgeon and Doctor just has a hands that make an incision. Maybe he is right.. But Lord choose Dr. Fong' hands for a reason! Without any hesitation I recommend Dr. Fong to anyone in need of cardiac surgery.

I can't speak highly enough of his marvelous technical skills, knowledge, experience and his personal compassion. This man is the kind of Doctor you want. I entrusted my life to him. Placed it in his hands. I would unhesitatingly recommend for anyone else facing heart surgery.
