Great experience....hernia operation successful and incision healed beautifully..it was very painful but he made sure I got post op pain medication...plus he has a good sense of humor..I'm not the easiest patient ..not good with pain...but he's friendly and answered quickly my question on mychart and said hoped I felt better plus staff was terrific

Dr Gefen is fantastic. Highly skilled, truly caring and great bedside manner.

Given my experience with Dr Gefen, I find the handful of uniformly positive ratings on this site implausible and suspect they are not authentic. My mother was admitted to Lankenau Hospital with a bowel obstruction. Dr. Gefen came into her room and said to her, “You have a bowel obstruction. It will require 8 hrs of surgery and you will die on the table.” My GI in NYC reviewed the records and advised me that the surgery could be done laparoscopically. When I asked Dr. Gefen about this, he said, “I can do it laparoscopically. Let’s schedule it for tomorrow morning.” My mother died the next day due to the poor care she received at Lankenau. A chart review revealed that Dr. Gefen decided on admission against surgery and referred her to hospice. No one informed us of Dr. Gefen’s decision to deny care. We also filed a complaint against Dr. Gefen for his arrogant, abusive behavior and his fabrications in the medical chart. I hope this review will prevent harm to others.

Office staff was great, doctor made an accurate diagnosis. He was very caring and spent the right amount of time with me.

Dr Gefin removed my gallbladder which I was informed was difficult because it was filled with stones and very inflamed.He explained everything to me prior to the surgery and was very kind to my family.I will definitively recommend Dr Gefin to friends and family should they need surgery and I will return to him if I need additional surgery in the future.
