2 words- Pompous donkey

First appointment I was in pain and the wait was over 1 hour. However it was during a snowstorm and I did discuss the wait with him. He was very apologetic and said that was not the normal. Second appointment wait was about 10 minutes or less. He does have a wonderful bedside manner and was highly recommended by one of the best trauma surgeons on the east coast. Overall a really great doctor.

He never measured my scoliotic curve. He took for granted the measurments of a previous "shoulder orthopedic." I was experiencing a great deal of pain.

5 years ago I was a healthy mom of 2. I went to Dr. Grauer for a second opinion only. He seemed well educated along with a great bed side manner. I moved forward with surgery under his care and this surgery I believe changed my life forever. I spent a week in the hospital learning how to walk again and the past 2 years trying to manage the pain. Dr. Grauer has refused to accept his surgery has caused the additional pain I have suffered after the surgery. I was unable to find a new doctor to consult with me due the fact that surgery was so recent so it left me no alternative but to visit the ER over 20 times. Prior to seeing Dr. Grauer I received 3 opinions stating surgery was not an option and to continue with Pain Management. I was tired of taking medication and wanted to believe someone could help me. I was desperate and only wished someone could have given me the feedback I am giving today. I wake up every morning and take 30 minutes just to let my medication start… working. Dr. Grauer refuses to validate my pain and insists that his work looks great. I have tried to stay positive with him and he makes me feel like a burden. I have read his notes from my visits and he has been less than forthcoming about how I am doing. This has been a life changer and I don't think I will ever be the same. Be careful prior to having Dr, Grauer touch you and try not to be fooled by his initial kindness/bedside manner.

My daughter felt very comfortable with Dr Grauer. He took his time talking to us. And spoke with my daughter, not ignoring her at all. She felt he listened to her, which meant a lot.

Dr grauer did my back surgery that required him to go in from the front. He laid eyes on me once post operatively and only for literally 2 minutes. Neither him or any of his residents/ PAs could tell me how my abdominal incision was being held together. They told me sutures, steri strips, glue- anything but staples. When it was time to take down my dressing- there were staples there. I find ithis incompetent for doctors and PAs that we're supposed to trust with our care to know what's going on. Once I got home I realized they dramatically decreased my pain regimen creating a lot of unnecessary pain. As I called to speak with a doc about my spiking temps- it took 3 calls and over an hour and a half before someone even got back to me. My pre op appointment took over 2 hours of waiting. Dr grauer behaves like a politician not a doctor. I would not recommend him or his staff to anyone who wants a clear/ unrushed explanation of their current diagnosis. He should be ashamed of his… practice.

I wouldn't recommend him to anyone- I'm currently in a worker's comp case that is dragging out- I can't have my surgery yet due to WC hold ups. Knot only had he lied right to my face about completing WC appeals, but he is not providing anymore pain management for me. My pain prevents me from sleeping, my quality of life is bed/ couch, I roll around in agony, and I'm hunched over. It makes me sick that he will not work with someone who is literally stuck in the WC restrictions, but he won't work with me until I am eligible through WC for my pain management. I can't get in to see a pain management specialist for a month- what do I do?!!!

After not getting my issues solved by several other doctors, I found that he really listened and helped.

Dr. Grauer is the best surgeon! I feel great!!

I had cervical fusion surgery by another doctor almost 10 years ago. While the surgery helped with some of the symptoms, I have been in chronic pain ever since. I have done everything known to man to try to alleviate my pain, physical therapy, traction, massage and pain management.I have seen many different doctors and surgeons, to no avail. I found Dr. Grauer and by my 2nd appointment, I had a diagnosis. My results are bittersweet. As I finally know what has been causing my pain, I will have to under go surgery. He is a very friendly and kind man, and I have the utmost confidence in him and that he will help me to be pain free. I highly recommend him.
