Dr. Jonathan Benjamin Ida, MD

Dr. Ida is one of the best specialists I have been to with my children. He takes his time during appointments, is very caring and extremely intelligent. We trust his recommendations and know our daughter is in great hands. His office is also very helpful and accommodating - love all the nurses too! Thank you, Dr Ida!

Dr Ida was compassionate and very knowledgable. After discovering my daughter needed a repeat Tonsillectomy following her original procedure from another practice, he reassured us that he was confident to perform this complicated surgery. Our daughter was scheduled immediately following the initial visit with his practice at Lurie's Children's outpatient clinic. Problem solved! The office staff was very accommodating and her surgery day was quick and easy. The nurses followed up after we returned home and my daughter recovered successfully. I would highly recommend Dr. Ida and his practice to other families.

Is stumbled upon these reviews and I am shocked ! We have been to Dr ida on and off for over a year and a half now. He was recommended to us by other moms in a DS group . My son has Down syndrome and has had issues with sleep and oxygen since a baby. After requesting a sleep study from other doctors with my suspicions of apnea, Dr Ida was the only one who would listen to my concerns. As soon as we told him our experiences, he gladly gave us the referral for a sleep study (other Doctors said not necessary until after 4). This saved my son. It was determined that he INFACT had severe sleep apnea. We scheduled his tonsils and adenoids removal and it has been smooth sailing since. We were very pleased with the explanation he gave us and how he checks in.

Thorough, thoughtful, and caring! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience especially with such a sensitive and delicate medical issue as with our 3 year old. Thank you Dr Ida for making it all seem so simple and a perfect surgery. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a pediatric ENT. I have no idea how anyone could have a less than stellar experience, but I can assure you that won’t be the case. We are tough to please and I’m so happy with how everything turned out.

Bad

Dr. Ida was wonderful! My 10 month old got 5 ear infections in 5 months. Dr. Ida was very informative and answered all my questions. He made me feel comfortable at both appointments leading up to my son’s surgery. My friend had recommended him to us. We saw a different ENT first but once I met Dr. Ida, I knew he was the right one. He talked to my son and made him feel comfortable.

Dr. Ida was quick to perform multiple procedures on my child but unable to answer questions or walk through founded concerns. When my daughter had additional problems, he did not get back to us or help investigate potential issues further. Terrible experience, and I agree with many of the other reviews. He should not work in pediatrics.

Dr Ida must work on extremes. People either love him or they hate him. To us, he wasnt anywhere close to being caring and understanding.
