Dr. Jonathan Paul Mannas, MD

Dr Mannas is the best neurosurgeon in Lubbock, TX!!! He is excellent in his skills as a surgeon and will spend the time to explain in details to his patients their condition and how he is going to do the surgery to help them with their problem. I just learned that the nurses called him “the doctor with magic hands” because he heals the patients!

Despite my plea for help with pain, Dr. Mannas made me feel that it was all in my head and that everyone has pain when we age and as soon as I accept that I will feel better. HE was not prepared for my appointment, did not even realize that he had ordered tests.

He saved me from further damage to spinal cord after others had misdiagnosed problem. Honest and to the point.

My mother had kyphoplasty done at UMC and the operation was completely botched. This was confirmed by Dr. Mannas who simply stated "I don't understand why they sent her here, it was done wrong. Nothing I can do about it". I agree with the arrogant attitude the other reviewer referred to. We waited for 1hr and 45minutes only to be treated as if my mother was wasting his time. Actually, he was wasting OUR time.

My husband broke his back at work and Dr. Mannas saw him in the Covenant Hosp ER, Lubbock. Great treatment, explanations, possible complications, custom made "turtle shell" back brace, and discharge. Highly pleased! Have first office visit following hospital next week.

Somewhat arrogant. Very young and bedside manner needs improvement. Referred to him by my family doctor in another town when the neurosurgeon my family doctor wanted me to see was booked up. Now I wish I would have waited longer to see my family doctor's first choice.
