Dr. Jonathan Rosenberg, MD

Dr. Rosenberg has been my gastroenterologist for almost 10 years. He is always accessible and responds to phone calls and emails very quickly. His office staff is exceptional. I’ve had many issues throughout the years and he has always been available thru televisits or having me see him in person . He reviews results with my other NYU doctors and makes recommendations. I consider him to be an excellent and caring doctor that has my best interest.

He is very confusing and hard to get in touch with if you are really ill. He complains about the use of emails but does not respond to phone calls. He is not available over the weekend. If you insist on speaking to him he says you are calling things emergencies that are not. I had spasms after one of his invasive tests and he inferred I was hysterical. He notes with some exaggeration that you are insistent on reaching him. I guess he is one of those "guys" who hates women. Beware.

My cardiologist referred me to Dr. Rosenberg. Being a high risk cancer patient, this doctor was prepared, understood my cancer history and kindly communicated my need for certain procedures as well as my results. His assistant (Shontay) is outstanding and certainly has high standards in terms of communication. A very good experience all around.

I usually have a lot of respect and appreciation for doctors, as well as a high tolerance for the awkwardness that the appointments usually carry. However, as a young woman with limited health coverage I feel like I was treated badly and feel the need to share my experience. This doctor was very difficult to schedule an appointment with, I had to wait over a month and then several hours at the office and once I saw him he was in and out the door within 5 minutes. This doctor is arrogant and has s poor bedside manner. Made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable about my health condition. Overall terrible experience and bad vibes. The secretaries were also unpleasant.

Great doctor, not such good staff. His secretary doesn't give him messages efficiently, and you may not get a call back, even for urgent situations. (The check-in staff is ok).

Very condescending demeanor. Didn't feel like he really cared about any of my issues

Dr. Rosenberg seems to know his stuff. He likes to answer questions and takes down all your information on his laptop. But he doesn't seem to like to do an actual examination. I've been to him a few times, and it could all be done over the phone!
