I was standing internist with a tremendous respect war patience conserves with an outstanding experienced for indep correct treatment.

I came in with a foot injury, very painful- and very important to me, a dancer. 9AM Monday- I was told that it was either a broken bone or a soft tissue sprain. I was sent for an xray. I asked when I would hear the results and how to care for whatever it turned out to be- 12-24 hours. Heard nothing at all, so I called at 10 Wednesday. I was not able to talk to the doctor or nurse, so the person answering the phone said she would send a message to them "high priority". No return call for 2 hours, so I called back. Again, the doctor and nurse were unavailable (they were at lunch, she said)(??). She was in touch with them, and told me that the xray was "normal". I asked, did I have any care instructions, since I suppose "normal" meant that it was a sprain...she again put me on hold and came back to tell me to ice and elevate. How often, I asked...she said whenever I felt like it. Wow. Just wow. Is this really acceptable care?
