Dr. Jonathan Kimihiro Yoon, MD

The office staff was professional and courteous. Dr. Yoon listened to me carefully to me, was respectful, and gave me all the time I needed.

I was having really bad headaches, blurred vision, ear pain and dizziness. I went to the urgent care and was told I had fluid in both ears. Saw Yoon 2 weeks later and he claimed that the urgent care doctor didn't know what she was talking about and that I didn't have any type of sinus infection going on and that there was no fluid in my ears. He claimed my sinuses looked fine and that I was having migraines. I knew right then and there that he was an incompetent amateur. He was the one that didn't know what he was talking about. Now here I am a month later, still in the same boat. I went to my medical doctor and she says I have fluid in both ears. How is it that 2 other doctors clearly see fluid in both ears, but not this guy and he's the one that's supposed to specialize in this area of the body!!!! I immediately cancelled my next appointment with him and found me a new ENT!!!! Mind you, the day I saw this man, I was super sick and he actually had the nerve to call it a… migraine instead of a sinus infection. People, don't even waste your time on this man who calls himself a specialist. He clearly needs to go back to school and get more training!!!!!!

I followed up with Dr. Yoon after an ER visit for a peritonsillar abscess. I had numerous ongoing issues from this abscess for four months and felt something was still wrong. My symptoms were: severe ear pain, healed piercings were becoming infected, excess ear wax, choking while swallowing, excessive snoring, affected singing and vocal chords, bad breath, sore throat, pain in my jaw, headaches and tonsil stones. He made an excuse for every symptom I had and dismissed many of my symptoms chalking them up to other "problems" such as sleep apnea, using too many q-tips, and needing a vocal therapist. I wanted to move forward with a tonsillectomy. A few weeks later, my voice shifted and I sounded like I was talking with a golf ball or whole egg in my mouth. I had a severe fever and my symptoms were worsening even after being put on a steroid and antibiotic from my general practitioner a few days earlier. I couldn't open my jaw during his examination because the pain was substantial. He… took one look in my mouth that I could hardly open and said, "yeah no, I can tell just from looking at you that you don't have an abscess". I was in tears from the pain. He then looked at me and asked, "we have you scheduled to get your tonsils removed, right?", to which I nodded. In a caddy tone, he said, "just know that pain is going to be much worse than the pain you're in now". Two days later, I went to the ER because I couldn't talk, had trouble breathing, and was in excruciating pain. To sum up that visit, I was septic with infection, had an emergency tonsillectomy and had TWO peritonsillar abscesses behind my left tonsil. I was in the hospital for three days to treat the infection and lower my WBC count. I trust my doctors to listen and give me a sense of validity as their patient when I'm discussing my symptoms with them. Dr. Yoon not only made me feel foolish for seeking care, but was completely dismissive of my ongoing symptoms and the pain I was in. I was helpless in his care. Please consider finding another Otolaryngologist.

Dr. Yoon is a caring physician and listens well.
