Dr. Jonben Svoboda, MD

Dr. Svoboda is a doctor that I met because of a mass in my parotid gland. The ENT doctor sent me to him for a biopsy. It has been years since I have seen a doctor with as much care in his heart as this man. He used his humor to lighten the mood of a man, me, who thought he had cancer. I highly recommend Dr. Svobda to anyone looking for an Endocrinologist and a doctor with a heart. His staff was great as well. CoxHealth Adult Medicine and Endocrinology should be proud and do everything they can to keep a doctor of this caliber on staff. I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Svoboda, MD, FACE, ECNU

My wife's visit, on Apr 24, with Dr Svoboda was totally and completely worthless. We requested a referral, from primary physician, to an endocrinologist and was referred to Dr Svoboda. He is a very nice and humorous man to talk with but offered no solutions. My wife explained her problems and symptoms. His answer was: you understand that it could be 1, 2 or 3 different things working together. He said let's wait and see what develops. Her problems have been ongoing for months now. Then he suggested we go back to our primary physician to see if he had any better ideas. If he did, he probably would not have referred us to begin with. Then he went off on a tangent and suggested she get her heart checked for a different issue. I have no problem with checking the heart but he offered to do no further testing, diagnosis or treatment for any of her issues from the referral, only suggested she was getting older and wait and see what happens. His many comments about "Medicare" seemed… to infer that patients on Medicare get a lower class of treatment, which is exactly what I feel we got. He didn't ask if we had any further questions or if our concerns were addressed, just ended the visit and said see you next year, with a big smile. Total and complete waste of time and money.

Dr. Svoboda took over my care after my previous endocrinologist left the practice. His care and knowledge has only been exceed by his personality and bedside manner. He and his staff always give me the time and attention I need to confidently manage my Type 1 Diabetes. The office is immaculate and the office staff is always friendly and accommodating. The closest thing I have to a complaint is how quickly his calendar books up (Surely because none of his patients ever want to leave for another doctor).

Joked about my condition. If I wanted to laugh, I would pay a professional clown, not this jerk!

I drove over a hundred miles for an appointment with this doctor who is out of network for my insurance. It seemed like he might be worth the additional cost, because I believed the hype in the literature sent out to me. I am struggling with a weight problem, and borderline diabetic and was seeking professional advice to help me with a plan to avoid diabetes if possible. It seemed somewhat insensitive to be greeted with a â??weight jokeâ?? as soon as he walked through the exam room door. Shortly thereafter the doctorâ??s voice grew in both volume and sarcasm when I was too slow in answering his barrage of questions. Finally, I had enough, and stood up to leave. Before I could walk out, he begged, â??no, no, no,â?? and promised to listen to my concerns. His concern was bogus, as he wrote an order for blood workâ?¦and told me to make an appointment for a year from now. No plan, no respect, no nothing. Such a huge disappointment. â??Condescending, insensitive and totally… inappropriate.â?? Yes, that is the doctor we saw. â??Best doctor on the planet by far.â?? Sorry, not in this galaxy!

He takes the time to explain why or why he isn't going to do something. He has a great bedside manner and is easy to talk to.
