Dr Chaves treated me for advanced stage IV colon cancer. Initially I was told that I couldn’t have surgery and I was given 6 months to live and basically told to get my affairs in order. Dr C put me on chemotherapy and ultimately I was operated and had it all taken out. After surgery I got more chemo and then came off treatment and now I remain cancer free 4 years from my diagnosis... without a doubt he is the best doctor for colon cancer. He also does a lot of research and his team is great.

Excellent doctor for treating our father with colon cancer. Answered all of our questions and gave us clear guidance on what to expect and options. Very available and great team.

Saw Dr Chaves after surgery. Went over everything with me in great detail and informed me that I DID NOT NEED CHEMOTHERAPY!! Very well informed and took time to explain everything.

This is my fifth year with Dr. Chaves. If I have to have cancer couldn't be happier with any other doctor. He is up front and honest about ones situation. He spends time with you and always asks you if you have any questions.

Basically caused my mom to die, waited and staggered out treatment after surgery so long tumor markers doubled, then hit with so much chemotherapy she went into toxic shock and had to be pulled from chemotherapy making cancer spread...complete mismanagement, disrespect and disregard

Our grandfather was diagnosed with an advanced colon cancer and we were referred to Dr Chaves. Dr Chaves gave us an aggressive treatment plan and he he helped get us get our grandfather to a great surgeon. We were pleased to know that he is able to work closely with UW/SCCA as well and he has gone above and beyond our expectations. He gave our grandfather chemotherapy locally in Tacoma and he had such a great result that he were able to have surgery!!
