Dr. Jose Cohen, MD

Dr’s PA advised me during an in person appointment that my surgery for hysterectomy (large fibroid) & oophorectomy would be day surgery. The PA should never have been allowed to tell me this. Subsequently I met with Dr two days before my surgery and he explained it would have to be open surgery with mid-line incision and two nights in hospital. I felt it was too late to cancel surgery as it would have meant a delay of at least a month. This was a big change and caused me much stress to find out at basically at the last minute

Did quick exam. Seemed to be in a rush. Rude when I asked him to repeat himself. I wanted wellness exam and they wanted to charge me more.

Dr was rude. He had no patience. When I asked him to repeat himself he go upset. He was in a rush. Then the ladies up front tried to charge me for other stuff when all I Want to was a wellness check.. I was surprised that I got That I got an appointment in so quick but now I know why

Dr. Cohen is professional and kind when he consults with his patients. His diagnosis was precise and my vaginal hysterectomy was a life saver. I recommend him without reservations.

I am so disappointed with this office it's unbelievable. I'm a transfer from out of state and wow if I wasn't so far along I would not stay with this office. My first appointment the nurse starts asking me questions with out asking me name or date birth. Come to find out she didn't even have my chart but another patients that she had written down my information in! She didn't ask me if I had any medication allergies I had stop her before leaving the room and ask her to write it down which she still failed to do on the front of my chart. My second visit the same triage nurse again fails to verify I'm the correct patient and didn't ask me my name or date of birth. Then when she weighed me the scale was off (I was weighed two days earlier at my primary doctors and it was 15 lbs less). When I asked to get weighed on different scale because I didn't gain 15 lbs in two days she put me on the same broken scale! It gets better she then tells me I have do a glucose tolerance test, I asked her… why when my glucose came out normal on all my labs. She was to under educated to answer. I told her I would come back on different day once my question was answered and when I hadn't eaten so close to my appointment. 30 mins later my doctor comes in. I believe that he is very knowledgable but was upset with his bedside manner and tone with me because I refused the glucose test with out discussing it further. Then he was upset because he didn't have my orthopedic surgeon records when I had filled out a sheet two weeks earlier to have the records released. I asked him if they checked because I had already signed a release and his nurse said no and that I also lost documents with my labs on it according to her. Then the doctor said I needed to lay of the ice cream because of the weight gain ( due to the brown scale) that's when my husband stepped in. On our way out I asked the clerk if they had received my records from my orthopedic surgeon and she said yes! So why didn't my doctor see them?!? I'm now 24 weeks pregnant and am devistated that I am stuck with this office. I must say the doctor his knowledgable but his nursing staff makes it hard for him to do his job. The ultrasound tech was excellent. This is a good clinic if your on Medicaid and need an OB fast but if you pay a good amount for good health insurance like I do please don't not bother with this clinic.
