Dr. Jose Armando Gutierrez, MD

went to ER because I woke up with the left side of my torso numb, headache and lightheaded. He did blood draw and urinalysis, chest exray and said labs were ok and sent me home. My pcp sent me for MRI and guess what? I had a stroke to two parts of the right side of my brain. He never did any scans. At all!!! When he said he was releasing me to go home I asked why I was numb on left side of my body and he said, and I quote “I don’t know.”

I was a patient of Dr. Gutierrez. I told him I volunteer for a 72 hour volunteer health check. He labeled me as not volunteering which meant I had to stay longer and miss several days of work. He was very cold and wasn't friendly during my examination. Basically had bias against me as a criminal when the police brought me in. The police told him and the nursing staff numerous time I brought by them because it's normal procedure and that I done nothing wrong. The cops even said I'm one of them but he pidgeon holed me from the beginning. Terrible!

Saw this doctor in the emergency room and he treated me with about as much respect as you would treat a cockroach you find crawling on the floor. He had zero sympathy for the fact that i was writhing around on the bed crying from severe abdominal pain. Did not take my pain seriously and sent me home without even doing any imaging or testing, other than vitals and blood work. He seemed annoyed that I was even in his hospital and made me feel like I was wasting his time. I left the ER in tears from the dismissive attitude of a provider who I had put my trust in.
