Dr Jose P. Miranda, MD

I am very pleased with my first visit with Dr. Miranda. My visit covered a multitude of ongoing problems I had with exposure to healthcare professionals in this field. My mask was properly fit to my odd face, and other health concerns were addressed as well. Thank you Dr. Miranda.

I received a referral and waited for 3 months since this was trying to find a new pulmonologist/sleep doctor. Arrived 15 min early as required, staff was great. Got seated in the lobby, and a minute later was called to the back. Penny got my vitals and after she left waited less than 5 minutes. He listened, discussed weight issues, CPAP use, and my lung issues. The appointment went about 30 minutes and had all my issues and questions taken care of. I highly recommend this doctor.

I've been to Dr. Miranda twice now for diagnosis of a lung infection. He gives me a lot of time, listens to all I have to say, is considerate, and explains everything well. He is also very personable and intelligent.

This is one of the most arrogrant and unknowledgable Dr's I've ever seen. does nothing but talk over you and a lot i was told was totally untrue. Forced me to accept oxygen from an unwantewd source and then lied about it. STAY AWAY

It took over six months to get an appointment . His assistant made some adjustments to my CPAC machine . Jose came in ask a few questions , told me to make another appointment in 3 months. A few days latter I was having problems with adjustments his assistance made. I tried to get back in for a readjustment , but was unsuggestful. At my next appointment, his assistant made more adjustments. That night all the machine did was dry out my mouth completely.Every hour I had to take my mask off drink water because my mouth was as dry as a desert. Again I sent him a message asking if I could come in for another adjustment becauseI could not use the machine. Someone in office texted me back stating he could squeeze me in two weeks. I responded that in two weeks I would be out of state for ten days. Two days latter someone text me again telling that they might be able to squeeze me next week if I would drive to Auburn. At prior times I have offered to Auburn or even Roseville . I declined… their offer and told them to cancel my appointment I have in two months. In over a year and half I used my CPAC maybe 20 days. I have lost more sleep in those night than I have by not using the machine. I will return to my family doctor and get a referral to a real doctor who will have my health in my best interest.Ask yourself, would you take your car to mechanic because the breaks are soft and all he dose is make a small adjustment. Then tell you to take you family on a three month cross county vacation. No you would run like to another mechanic My advice is don't waste your time with this guy!

I think the most memorable thing about Dr. Miranda is the way he makes you feel about yourself. Crappy. He is clearly smart but lacks the ability to really connect with his patients because he seems to be in such a hurry. He really didn't take the time to listen to me at all and as others have said he talks right over you before you are able to finish your answers to his questions. I am on this site looking for a new doctor because my experience with him (after waiting for months) was so awful. I am a pretty confident, professional woman and I was in tears as I made my way to my car after being so rudely treated by him. Lastly, don't plan on taking notes on his directions which he delivers rapid fire because he will shout at you to stop writing them down. As a teacher I was beyond shocked. What is wrong with writing things down to make sure I follow his directions correctly? Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

This guy will ask a question, and then talk over you before you have a chance to answer. He also has an insulting, shameful tone when it comes to weight issues. He has the worst bedside manner.

I think that Dr. Miranda might be an excellent doctor but sutter won't let him. Once I got a referal from my primary I had to wait 4 months to see him (just to talk for 30-45 minutes). During this visit he was great but on every subsequent visit I have had to wait far beyond my appointment time only for him to blow into the room, ask me questions rapid-fire, talk over me and paraphrase his own answers to my questions that he types on the computer before I've even finished speaking my answer. It takes forever to get an appointment with him, he double-books so you have to wait double-long, and then when you do get time with him he makes you feel like the clock is ticking and he really really needs to get into the next room. I have canceled my work insurance and switched to my wife's Kaiser plan to find a better sleep doctor who isn't so overloaded. Oh, also, he NEVER responds to messages until you've sent the same brief one each week for 4 or 5 weeks in a row, then he'll call you… and give you an answer that is as rushed as his appointments. His staff are very nice and courteous (especially Doug, who is the only reason for the second star). Literally everything else about my experience with Dr. Miranda has been stressful. If you need a sleep doctor, try to get anybody else.

I have seen Dr. Miranda several times for treatment of sleep apnea. Every time that I see him he very rudely insults me about my weight. I am not seeing him for nutrition, adviseing me about my weight once is enough but getting on me every time I see him is ridiculous.
