Very poor experience with this person. Do not recommend

In early 2000's had all day examination by Dr. Ochoa and his assistant. At that time less was known about CRPS and like many patients with this life altering, horrifically painful condition, I was desperate for insight and hope. Instead his battery of tests were designed (and in one case data altered) to support his theory that CRPS does not exist. At that time the spread to other limbs in CRPS was poorly understood. He used thermography to test for blood flow in the originally effected limb. I had also reported pain, numbness, color and temperature changes in the contralateral limb. When he was unable to show either limb was normal temperature, he placed both arms in front of a tray of ice in order to even register on the thermography with no notes of this extraordinary measure to make my already cold limbs appear to be of normal temperature (the standard at that time was to compare limbs for temperature differences to show alteration in blood flow). It is now understood CRPS can… spread and become centralized pain. He preformed a painful electromyography which was already known to not measure the correct nerve malfunctions and offered that as proof of no disease process. I believe this was done to further his theory that CRPS does not exist in support of his research being published in journals during that time period. Thankfully the science has advanced beyond his claims, with a much better understanding of the underlying physiology of this disease. He does his patients, their physicians and researchers a disservice by molding his data to fit his theory.
