Dr. Jose A Perez, MD

Dr Perez was able to accommodate me when I arrived even though I did not have an appointment. He listened to my concerns and addressed them, which is what I was lacking with my previous doctor. He took the time to explain things to me. The wait was a little long but it was worth it.

Dr. Perez has treated our parents, sibilings, children and grandkids for the last 54 years, we trust him and respect him for his medical knowledge , wisdom, caring nature and human kindness. He has responded to our urgent needs professionally and responsibly! We fully trust his medical expertise! We are fearing his retiring from Olivares, Castellanos, Beltran, Elizarraraz Family.

This man's license should be revoked. I went to his office only once, the one located on Whittier. At the time I had gone to inquire about PCOS and the treatment I received from him was completely dismissive. 1) I had been struggling with symptoms and wanted someone to check my hormones to confirm that I had it. I was 19 or 20, and should have known better than to stay longer than 5 minutes there. Dr. Perez had no clue what I was even talking about, he had never heard of PCOS and acted as if he was irritated with me and my questions. Extremely rude. 2) I asked if there was a gyno available to do a pap test (my first ever). Dr. Perez said he could do it himself, but I should have known better than to let this negligent man treat me. He was rough, to say the least, and didn't take the time to help me relax. It was my first pap test, I didn't know it should not have been like this. He repeatedly asked me to get closer to the end of the bed as I laid there, in just a gown, but I guess I… wasn't getting as close as he liked because he pulled me by the thighs toward him and did not hesitate to insert his instrument. Again, he was clearly irritated. His nurse assistant did not say anything but I could see it on her face that she knew this man should not be in practice, let alone giving pap smears. I felt so humiliated and violated. I left that clinic trembling, so anxious that when I had my blood drawn after the pap test, no blood would come out. I almost fainted from the experience, but I did not know how badly it would affect me long-term until later on. Looking back, I wish I hadn't walked through those doors and let this man touch me. It was my fault for not doing my research, but I was naive. My mother went with me, she too had an appointment. It wasn't until later that she told me the man was hesitant to give her a physical, would barely even touch her. This was only after she told him she had HIV, to disclose her health history. My mother has been through a lot, it is very hard for her to find a provider that won't outright discriminate against her in even the most subtle ways. This infuriated me, but we have long since gotten new insurance and have different providers. The reason I post this review now is because I could not remember his name, until I found my old insurance card with his name & clinic address on it several days ago. I only hope my review can keep others from having the same degrading experience that I had with him. I only recently realized how much it has affected me and continues to affect me. This man needs to be revoked of his license. I don't know how many women (young or old) have only kept silent as if it is normal to be treated this way.
