Dr. Jose Fernando Roldan, MD

I brought in a very detailed journal of symptoms and events from a 5 month period (after waiting 2.5 months to get in to see him) along with an Excel spreadsheet of blood work from the past 7 years along with pictures from flareups of swollen red hands, eyes, face, feet, etc... As you can see, I really wanted help and wanted to be as thorough as possible. I was placed on a low dose of Plaquenil and directed to come back in 2 months. Went back as instructed and after 2 months and was told I have undifferentiated autoimmune disease with no other explanation or course of action except to double the dose of Plaquenil. Ok....there's got to be SOMETHING causing the issue, so, how are we going to determine WHAT is causing the issue? I was basically dismissed with my questions and double drugged and sent out the door. I'll be beginning the search for another Dr. who will listen and will go on this rough journey with me rather than collecting my $395.00 for 1st office visit and $105.00… for 2nd visit (this IS with BCBS insurance) and being sent out the door.

Not only did Dr. Roldan save my life but he informed me of all the ins and outs of my Lupus, Fibromyalgia, etc. He gave me strict instructions. I followed them and I am still here to tell about it.

Jose Roldan is a kind and patient doctor who takes the time to listen to me, answering all of my questions regardless of how often I repeat myself. I was very confused about my medical condition, having seen countless doctors before I met him. He was proactive in treating my symptoms and shows that he truly cares to maximize my quality of life.

He knows rheumatology, and he knows SLE!

Doctor is ok but very rude I been seeing him for over 10 years and im still in pain ...I been on so much meds ...and no luck just stared on infusion ivy and still not feeling good

Really good doctor and veyr intelligent. Unfortunately, he may choose to not wait the minute or two to give the numbing meds a chance to work. NOT FUN! My son is afraid to go back although the shots work. Sometimes he is just in too big of a hurry.

I've been seeing dr roldan for sine 2011. I felt he got the wrong impression with me for some time, but that was not his fault! I didn't want the diagnosis he gave me! Everytime I seen him he was kind, soft spoken & very gentle, but I always felt he was wrong! this was not my diagnosis! I have tried to stop taking the medicine plaquenil he prescribed & after a short time all my symptoms returned!! I'm happy with my care by dr roldan and appreciate his training! I still struggle a little having to take RX daily!! I now trust him that he is treating me conservately and with a passionate interest in my well being! I would recommend those who want to be as healthy as they can be with the safest care to see DR ROLDAN, God bless the word practicing medicine! take a moment to understand what that really means!!!

After seeing a different Rheumatologist for over 3 years, I decided to look for a second opinion (that Dr. continued to ignore where my pain was located, and continued to treat my knees only!) Saw Dr. Roldan and within 5 minutes he diagnosed my problem and confirmed with an X-ray. My condition was so far gone that I ended up needing surgery, but the pre and post treatments have given me my life back! He is patient, knowledgeable, and always spends time with me without seeming rushed.

On a pain scale of 1-10, I was experiencing 8 when I went to see him.I told him I couldn't sleep, answered the stupid questionairre, didn't address my complaints. No eye contact. Spent about 15 minutes with me.He did orderlabs & x-ray but would not give me anymedication for pain or for RA, he just walked away & left the room. 2nd visitordered Plaquenil he said it would takeseveral wks. to work, he neglected to tell me that it was an anti-malaria/lupus drug. I spent more time waiting to see him then the actual visit (less than 15 minutes) He was aloof, doesn't smile. After a month offeeling WORSE, lost 10 pounds, felt irritable, food tasted like metal, I stopped taking the med & went to seesomeone else who helped me immenselythe 1st visit!
